im trying to get the hang of having both hands being completely independent of the other.
i like watching videos of cstar and other pros and paying attention to how their fingers are independent and i would like to know whats the best way to maximize this skill for a begginer like myself
i've been playing for a few months now, and im already on hyper but the most i can do is 7 stars, on both my BMUS and RED
sorry if this seems kinda lame

I know of three methods I used to get my hands to move independently.
The first is to find songs with really fast chords. This forces you to use one hand for half of each chord. Scherzo [a] and Red Nikita [h] and [a] are good for this. I would also recommend Fake Time as well - though the ending is freaking nasty. ><
The second are songs with drum-rolls with accompanied with extra notes. The Hope of Tomorrow is bad about this one. In short - this forces one hand to hold the drum-roll - while the other hand picks up the rest of the notes. This also forces you to split your thinking between two note patterns. That, in turn, helps with other songs like that. *cough*traces*cough*
The third is songs with a steady backbeat or bass run. This is a bit more subtle - but it's akin to having a constant beat (usually the 1-key or a combination of the 1-3) that you must hit *all* the time. The song that jumps to mind is G2 [a] - but since you don't have 6th or 8th style, LAB would be pretty good. I know L.E.D. songs are notorious for having you hit the beat as well.
That's about all I can tell you. Other than that - practice!!!!
