Any substitiutes for 2nd controller?

I've been wanting to try & get some doubles in (for some pics & DJ points), but I don't want to get another BMUS bundle since I'd have an extra copy of the game & nobody really wants it. It's too expensive to get a KOC JP controller (not to mention there's out at Play-Asia), & I really can't find a "used" US controller. So I was wondering if it would be possible to use some other controller (not a DuelShock, we all know that's as confusing as hell). A Pop'n Controller would have enough buttons, would that work?

Just check the marketplace, I see one that pops up every now and then.

you can use the pop'n music controller just fine... easy way to get some extra dj points.

the leftmost 7 buttons are the buttons, and the rightmost yellow and white button are the turntable. it's the opposite if you plug it in on the 1 player side.

Yeah, that was the plan (then I'll get 1,000 DJ points needed in Red & HS). Once I get enough money, I'll get another IIDX controller.

It's the KOC, so it's not the AC controller, but the small home controller, so it should be easier on my fingers. I'm not planning on going into hard stuff, just enough for some pics & DJ points.

Do I need to go into options & set it as DuelShock & then assign each button as something?

no, just leave it as original 7key controller. It seems konami has programmed pop'n controllers in...

that's why all the iidxes with customization options have a pop'n skin.

Well, tried it on Red. My God, is it hard to learn. I did pass some songs (like the 1st 5) & got over 20 points, so it IS working. I can't imagine getting good at it. It feels like I had amensia & forgot how to play IIDX. Using one hand for each controller just feels wierd, but for some reason, it REALLY makes me want to get another IIDX controller & get better at Doubles.
