I might buy it someday just to see how it plays. It looks like it would take some getting used to...

Looks pretty worthless to me. I'd rather use ANYTHING besides that craptastic hunk of plastic.

IIRC, it's supposed to be a pretty decent Beatmania controller. Second to that more professional looking one that lights up, but still pretty darn good.

That has to be one of the weirdest Beatmania controllers that I have ever seen.

It's rubbish. The keys have sensors only right in the middle (meaning that if you hit the keys on the side they might not register), and the scratch is tiny, usually groaning loudly when you spin it a lot.

Playing on it is a chore.

It's horrible. The keys take so much effort to push down >__< The European game itself isn't *that* bad, but its still terrible. This controller makes me VERY sad

Tonight on Ugly Controllers, we look at the splendidly hideous European beatmania turntable.

I am only seeing the picture, unfortunately I haven't seen one in person or played on it... I've always been a fan of 5-key but the controller just looks fairly cheap.

I guess this post was fairly pointless due to the massive amount of good information in the previous replies so... Yeah.

Uh, is it just me or does the turntable look like blades of some sort? Sort of like.. you're supposed to stick meat in there to grind it up. Or make a slushy.. whichever is easiest. Or maybe you can turn it on for AC.. hrm *shrug*

Haha, I think that's just you. It looks like it just has raised sections that are blade shaped, which is probably supposed to be for grip or something.

God, I can't get over how stupid it looks.

Just going by looks, I'd have to put that at the bottom of the funky BM controllers list. That white one looked pretty spiffy though.

The greatest Beatmania controller was the DJ Station Pro. It also came in a very limited edition yellow as I recall...

The ASCII controller had a limited edition that was yellow (there were other limited editions also). I was in Japan when the DJ Station Pro came out and I don't ever remember seeing any limited editions of it. Maybe you're thinking of the ASCII limited. But I'll agree that the best 5-key controller is the DJ Station Pro - not only did it have a good turntable and good keys, the keys lit up and there was a headphone jack with independant L & R volume sliders. I still run my sound through the DJ Station Pro for that feature alone.

Heck yeah, the DJ Station pros are freakin awesome. I had the pleasure of playing on one a year ago and it was pretty freakin awesome.

Hmmmm, 40 bucks for this awful controller on ebay.... It's somewhat tempting. Lol, if only I had a pal ps1/2, I could atleast say if works well or not. Who knows, it might actually be decent.
