Connect the PSX pad to PC

just make that. you can skip the part about adding force feedback, since the controller doesn't use it.

THE USKOC DOES NOT WORK WITH PARALLEL ADAPTERS! Unfortunately, it really doesn't. Some claim that they do, but say that you need an additional add on card along with the adapter, and a specific driver, but most everyone who has tried says that they do not work.
There is however a USB adapter from Radio Shack, and if you raise the polling rates of your USB ports to 250Hz, it works damn near perfectly. It's model no. 26-729.
This is what to look for in the store.

are you sure this adaptor works?? I have been looking for this at several radioshacks , but couldn't find it. Earlier, I look at the online catalog and found some stores near by that says they have it in stock so I might pick one up today.

I bought the Radio Shack adapter yesterday, with the model # 26-729. It works like a charm! Everything is responding perfectly and I can use the turntable no problem.

Don't the US IIDX controllers have a lockout of sorts? I swore I've read that more than once. I'm sure the JP controller works with adapters but my US sure doesn't.

It's not the controller itself, it was a problem with the drivers. The new Radio Shack adapter that is in stores now works very well with all sims. Just make sure that you overclock your USB ports to 250 Hz and everything should be fine.

Wierd, someone on the radioshack site says it doesn't work with beatmania. But I might as well try it out. It's not too expensive. Or did you mean that it only works with Stepmania, etc?

It works very well with any controller on any program. I even use it on Half-Life 2.

My adapter wont register up and down, or left and right when i push them together. It reads every other double perfectly. Any suggestions? Please help..

You have to activate dancepad mode if your adapter supports it.
