Default anyone mod their KOC with Sanwa keys?

I want to build a box and use a KOC board to build it...

I was thinking of using an old DJ Man controller (knockoff beatmania I controller) but it seems so terrible inside that it looks garbage.

Anyone do it, and how tough was it? I've just finished building my own arcade stick, but this seems more complicated.

Also, are the OBSA-45UK keys the same as the arcade keys (OBSA-45UK-K/W-LEDR and OBSA-45UK-W-LEDR) but just without LEDs???

See buttons here 照光式押しボタン薄型40/45Φシリーズ/三和電子株式会社

Thanks for anyone that can contribute to this thread.

There was a website of some guy that did this. The problem is you're gonna be modding not only the keys and where the shit goes, but also the base, as the microswitch and keys are too large to just place in the existing sockets.

that's not a problem for me. I was just wondering what buttons to buy, because if they are identical except for colour and lighting, I can save a lot of money...

I saw an attempt of some Japanese dude doing this.........but that was for his Konami ASC and that required a lot of soldering and electrical work to get it done (in short, LOTS of MANUAL LABOR).

Though, I'm not sure if this can be done on a KOC (as the microswitches and its housing may not fit in the keypad bay).

That's a TX series pad. They suck more than a hooker on the strip.

Here's a video of me playing Silvia Drive another on his controller. (Note I've never really played with the turntable on the left side in my life :G and also that he is making me laugh uncontrollably for most of the video)

if you already have the box made use a Rave Discman board (if they still make em that is)...it requires much less work (pretty much the only thing you gotta do is replace their keys with the sanwas...and the turntable cause they tend to misfire)

They keypanel sticker got a little bit messy from cutting, and I still need to build a little frame thing for the bottom, as the buttons are sticking out

hah, awesome! i think i'd put mine in a wider box so that i'd have a wrist rest like an ASC.

how much did your buttons/other materials cost, and where did you get them?

Yeah, forgot to mention, its not just tape holding that box on, There's plenty of hot glue under there

I got the buttons aaages ago, from Controllica, I think they cost around $50, but unfortunately they dont sell them alone anymore (I just ripped them out of my old ASC attempt). They're not that nice, but are better than sticking KOC keys. For the box I just used some scrap MDF, that's why I covered it in tape, it looked really scruffy XD

Misc things like spade clips, solder and wire didn't cost a lot.
