Well, I measured them on the fly without writing them down and just called out the measurements to my bro as he drew it on his PC.
But I can remember some stuff:
The panel is the same size as the bottom of the controller (about 17" x 7 7/16" and 1" thick).
The notched out area for the eject button is about 1" x 3 1/8".
The opening for the buttons starts 10mm away from the right edge and has about 45 mm above and below it. The opening is about 7 inches wide. It is just over 3/4" deep.
The holes are 12mm in diameter... Even with them this big I found myself needing to magnetize my screwdriver to point them to the screw holes.

Have you considered the mod to raise and move the turntable to offer a more arcade-like experience?
Oh, and out of interest, how much did you spend on the materials including the new buttons? |
Yeah, I really would have liked to get the black keys, but they were 21 bucks a piece versus 13 a piece for my blue keys. But when I did get the blue ones, I was pleasantly surprised; they looked better than I thought they would. Literally the only difference is that the button houses a bulb instead of an LED... the microswitch and button assembly are identical.
With regards to doing the turntable mod, that is something that I would do if it were quick and easy, but I don't think I have the time and energy required. I would likely have to do it myself, since my bro is too busy these days. I think I would end up having to build a proper wooden case and forgo the Konami casing altogether. And I always told myself that if I cared that much, that I'd just drop the half grand on a Dao lol.
In terms of cost, I was fortunate enough to get the bottom free, but if you wanted to buy piece of 1" MDF it could get costly if you need to buy a large sheet.
Hopefully you can buy a tiny piece and not have to spend more than 20 bucks.
The keys were 13 bucks a key, so about 100 bucks for the keys shipped, but I also spent 5 bucks on wiring from a local electronics store and 15 bucks for a 100-pack of 0.187" quick disconnects. Paint was 10 bucks.
So all in all, I spent about 130 bucks to do this mod. Not bad since the controller is arguably almost as good as a dao FP7, and importing those would cost me over 400 bucks Canadian (I live in Canada).
If I had to critique my controller, it would be sweet if the TT was higher. I don't care about the distance since I don't play at the arcade, but having a higher TT would feel better with the Sanwas.
