However, after practicing many many many hours, I can honestly say there is no other game - or no other satisfaction any game can give me - then when playing IIDX level 11+ songs, and finally being able to hit and combo nearly incomprehensible intensely complex patterns and thinking (how the hell am I doing this? -as your doing it)
You'll get it eventually, the brain works the hands more precisely and articulate then you think. It just takes time. time. time.
I used to think harder charts weren't as fun because I had low stamina and it felt like.. a grinding work out of sorts. - but once you get used to it, and you start clearing songs you once said would never be possible... You'll find out it is. You just need the proper determination.

I don't think I'm passing that any time soon.

I don't think I'm passing that any time soon. | Go Berzerk and Hype The Core are very good examples of charts that are actually considerably easier than they look. (Not to say I've passed either of them)

Thats how I learned to clear quasar [a] at least. No way I would have tolerated playing the entire song just to die at the major chord stream 2/3's through over and over with no progress.
-and random should get a mention here too- ; )
Really. training mode ; P

Really. training mode ; P | Training mode doesn't have slowing the song down before Happy Sky, so that doesn't help with Go Berzerk or Hype The Core.

But now I can pass most 8s and probably 50% of 9s, and one 10 (Photongenic [h]). I'm getting there, it just takes lots of time and regular practise.

How long did it take for the guys here who can pass 11's and 12's?

Now, 8 months later, I still have trouble with 11s and have only cleared 5 12s (with normal KOC distance between the keys and turntable) along with a recent easy clear of Icarus. Quote:

Distorted was when it was split into 12 slow speeds + 4 fast speeds.
