How different is the arcade timing from the home version timing. Is the arcade timing a few ms later or earlier. Is the timing difference in the game software or in the buttons themselves? Thanks

you just gotta find out for yourself really.

The first version to advertise what looks like an LCD (not a CRT, anyway) is DJ Troopers. And that's optional.

Though I'm not a Beatmania expert, I believe the timing depends on many variables. First of all there is the lag on your TV, so if your TV produces any sort of lag on the game, then the timing will be off. Second there is your controller, which can produce lag if it's been worn out through rough play of V. Also it also depends on the version of the game you play on. I heard Happy Sky CS had a timing system that fits with your TV, but idk (correct me if I'm wrong). Other CS versions have horrible timing if I can recall--9th Style CS.
When I play Beatmania IIDX in the arcade, I feel like I'm always getting more Goods than Greats because the timing feels really "off" compare to what I'm use to with the CS versions. But how you said 3ms sounds right to me.

I suck, I can only play 6-7 Stars on Normal, but with the addition of GOLD, I can beat some 8's!
I don't play MapleStory anymore, gave my roots26 account away...
I have all 6 Roots26 Shirts.

But if you set the timing to 0 (default) on Happy Sky, I personally think the timing is nearly identical to 9th CS. It's 9th AC that had really bad timing.

So if IIDX (CS or AC) was running off a CRT monitor, it wouldn't get lag from that at all?
Sorry, just curious as to how the AC ones work compared to the home versions.

Total Tokens: 2,992.46 Donate Tokens | The arcade version has the Widescreen CRT TV connected to a VGA output from the Bemani Computer. I hoping 15th and up will have more video output options, like DVI, HDMI, and Composite, for IIDX machines that plays on HDTVs.
Timing on Arcade Versions are more strict than the Home Versions.
