Default Arcade Turntable

I am relatively new to Beatmania, I have played before and have started to really get into it. I struggled at first but am starting to get better, but I am limited on play between a friend's controller and the rare chance I end up at an arcade that has the game, so I figured I would either buy a USKOC like he has, or build my own for use on my computer and on my PS2.

I have built custom controllers before, so I am leaning more towards this option, and I would be able to make a true arcade style without shelling out upwards of 300 dollars. The only problem I run into is finding a turntable that is the arcade size, would anyone know of any place to find this part? I looked throughout the forum and I have searched my usual arcade parts sites in search, and none of them carry the part.

if you want to build a doubles deck the 14 keys cost $300 themselves -_-

I will be building a single player, and if i do so with some Sanwa OBSA-45UKs, it will be like 40 bucks for the buttons buying them from a friend who can get me the arcade parts. I have already factored it all in, and total (assuming the turntable isn't ridiculous), I should be able to build a nice controller for about 100, which is what I put into my arcade joystick. My concern now is finding a turntable that is arcade size, not the one that comes with the KOC controller.

An idea I have now is just buying a turntable used, like an actual Technic deck, and then ripping the turntable and remounting it.

Jesus, not much can make me cringe, but you just did it right there.

Also, the controller will get really heavy if you do that

I am just trying to find a way to get an arcade-style turntable, something larger than the small turntable that comes with the KOC, it seems that the DJ DAO controllers all have the right sized turntables, so there must be some way to get the parts.

I found a Numark aluminum platter that would look extremely nice, despite the fact it is not the official size for an arcade setup. I guess I will just see if anybody can post somewhere I can get the arcade turntable and if not just grab the numark for the 20 dollars hes asking and just mod that to work.

Why don't you see if you can get in contact with either Steve at Desktop Arcade or Dao. Try and see if they could sell you just the turntable. I know that Dao sells a lot of spare parts, anywhere from TT censors to LEDS, keys, microswitches, etc etc.

You can buy the new DJ Dao turntable assembly that fixes the misfiring problem for like $155 by itself. I'm sure that will help you a lot.

ya good luck with using a actual turntable, I highly doubt you can get that working. You should just go with what everyone else said, go to the places that sell the ASC controllers, and ask them if they can sell you parts. I know for a fact DJ DAO does sell parts for turntables.

ive got a set of Nuwark TT 1520 decks and a set of Konami ASCs and just visually by comparison, the Nuwarks TT is huge.

if u want to retain the arcade feeling then i think you should just stick with the konami ASC TT dimensions
