I've been playing Autoscratch ever since I started playing IIDX. I tried it without it when I first got it, and I was like, this is a pain, so I never picked up scratching again. Do you think it's hurting my skills if I dont use it?
Edit: I have started using scratch, but can only play up to 8's and some 9's on hyper, but please discuss this issue, I would love to hear other people opinion on this matter.

In all honesty play how you want, but if you expect to have the same credibility when saying you cleared your first 12 when using autoscratch compared to someone who hasn't, don't expect too much praise.
Just start on no autoscratch from now on. If you do want to use autoscratch, use it for songs that are heavy with scratches to figure out a good finger placement technique.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | Yeah, think of all the songs that are difficult because there's scratch. Take Digitank System[A] autoscratch. That's no more than an 8. Or SCREAM SQUAD[A] autoscratch which would probably be a hard 9 or easy 10. Basically none of your accomplishments will actually live up to the difficulty standard.
If you don't like playing with scratch that's fine but nothing you ever do will be comparable to anyone else in the community since everyone else uses scratch. It's up to what you want, really.

Marketplace Rating: 12 | Use scratch. Its not that we look down on you for using it but IMO whenever i see someone using it I can't take them seriously as a good player. I think autoscratch should be removed its really not the same game when using it. Its like you might as well be playing stepmania if your not using the TT. Same for drummania players who use auto-bass/hi hat/cymbol but thats a different story.

Marketplace Rating: 12 | Honestly the hardest part is gonna be getting used to scratching. Try playing 7's and using the "pinky scratch" technique.

worked for me on quite a bit of songs.

Marketplace Rating: 1 | Scratching was one of my favorite aspects starting out, I guess that's why it ended up being my strong suit. But yeah I think all my thoughts on autoscratch have already been stated here. It doesn't even really help with learning charts since simply adding a scratch or two in a pattern entirely reworks how the pattern needs to be played.
Auto anything in drummania is just plain offensive.

It was very hard for me to try to ignore hitting the scratches. Everyone is different though.

Marketplace Rating: 1 | I used not to like scratches in IIDX, but I actually grew to like them. What I used to do was learn the note charts of level 9-10 charts I couldn't pass easily using autoscratch at home but still scratching on the controller and then once I was familiar with the charts enough, I would take autoscratch off and after practising a bit more - I could handle the charts better. I think it's a good practise tool, but only if you scratch along.
