I am contemplating the purchase on one of several beatmania cabinets that are available right now, including the one that was on here a few days ago. The standard beatmania cabinet is 36 inches wide, too wide for most doors at home. I know there has to be a way to open the control panel to change/repair keys but can the control panel come completely off? Any other parts of the cabinet disassemble?

You could also pop the door off the hinges and pull the molding off, that might give you some more space if you don't want to damage the cab.

I also believe you can detach the control panel, the whole thing, but its a bitch to put back on. If you are just messing around with the wiring on the control panels, you can just unscrew the metal panels and slide them off to get to the wiring.

Taking it apart itself it's too bad, but removing all of the wiring so it can come apart from the cabinet is rather tricky. I ended up having to cut the grounds to the control panel on my 5-key cabinet to remove it.

It would be easier because you would only have to plug the speakers and lights back in once you reassemble it and that's nothing. Once you get the marquee section off, tilt, turn, and wiggle the machine any which way you can to get it into the house.
You could also unhinge the door if worse comes to worst.

It's not something I'd want to do often, but it's not horrible - the most difficult part of moving it was getting the thing down the basement steps and through the door at the same time - it barely fit, but it fit!

Get a friend to help hold shit while you look around (I can not physically lift a bmIII control deck by myself, so it sucked trying to unhook everything).

Total Tokens: 59.96 Donate Tokens | Can't get keypanel back on! Hey all!
I just moved my friend's beatmania cm2 from sacramento to oakland, and into my house, which required the 3-part disassembly. I've got everything set up, but the keypanel seems to be too tight of a fit around the metal lip on each end to go all the way in! It's like 1.5cm off... It's fine to play, since the weight is all on the shelf, but I'd much prefer for it to be yknow, fully put together. Any ideas on getting it pushed in all the way? Ought I get some pictures?
Thanks!~
