So I was playing some DJ Troopers, and I felt like 5* songs are rather easy (I'm not very good), so I decided to bump up to 6*. I realized rather quickly that there is NO way at my current skill that I can pass any of them. It's really frustrating. And in this frustration, I went back to 5* songs, and I couldn't even pass them because I was so pissed at myself.

I'm sure this has happened to you, so share your stories. Broken controllers welcome.

I PC'd Drunk Monky all the way up to the weird triple gallop part.

Then I string bad'd my way to a fail before the section ended.

Border failed numerous bullshit 12s.

Getting super close to AAAing a song only to realize you have the worst timing in the world

And also being a one-handed player when you finally get to 10s when you realize how extremely difficult it is to possibly follow some patterns with only one hand and then having to resort to using two.

These, especially the timing one, my timing is horrible. I don't switch to two hands for difficult patterns, though. I'd rather attempt the pattern and fail than keep avoiding it, otherwise advancement will be difficult.

Also this falls under the patterns category, but scales. My brain just shuts down the second scales appear. And 5+6 chords.

trying to play doubles for the first time. got really pissed off and now the 1st and 2nd button on one of my controllers are gay, they only start to work after playing with it for 10 mins.

I wanted to unlock TROOPERS [ba]. I played the song with Easy, Auto Scratch and 5 keys. I was nearly there, until that last part dropped my gauge below 75%. It could've been my first 12 to pass ever (with those mods, and a DualShock controller).

Also recently, I forgot to put Hard on in the Time to Air ES just so I could play PARANOiA ~HADES~ in the next stage. After that, I was never able to reach TTA again, as I choked and lost combo at Anisakis [N].

My con misfired once on Hanafubuki [a], resulting in me failing what would have been my first clear of that song, and i hit my controller, putting a hole right through the PCB.

The last note in Spooky killed me twice in a row when I was trying to pass the song for the first time.

Same here !!! 5 stars is easy for me but i cant do 6 stars and Im better when i dont play often..

being able to pass a song a thousand times but when you play in public or record vids you can't pass shit or your recording stuff malfunctions.

I keep getting so close to passing songs on 6*, only to get to the BS end of the song that makes me fail. I have this feeling I'll never become good like everyone else on this forum.

you will, it just takes time. youre around the part of the progression curve where the gap between levels is wider, just keep at it.

Could you recommend a style that's good for progression? I have Red, Happy Sky, DistorteD, Gold and DJ Troopers. I feel like DJ Troopers is rocking my ass all across the court.
