I would have easily taken more CS songs or 5 key revivals over repeats from recent styles. I should think that's a pretty obvious decision.
And of course it's lazier to just put in a ton of repeat songs over new stuff. One takes far less effort on their part than the other. Empress CS is essentially quantity over quality. | Empress is just less quantity overall in terms of new songs. I don't think the quality of Empress is much less than that of Troopers. And don't assume that what's obvious to you is obvious to Konami. What if their goal was to cram as many of the players' favorite songs onto one game, plus have all the new Empress songs? Then they certainly met their goal eh? Who cares about recent songs being revived? If they're good, they belong on Premium Best. Besides, the people at Konami that make the decisions do very little when it comes to making new songs, as that burden is held by the artists that make the videos and music and charts. Konami deciding not to make more CS songs does not necessarily mean that Konami is lazy. It doesn't prove anyone was lazy! We can only speculate as to why Konami did what they did. So until someone gives me proof that a decision was made with laziness as its justification, I will not call Konami lazy. At least not in regards to Empress CS. DDR on the other hand.... Quote:

3rd CS~5th CS - 1 (LEADING CYBER)
6th CS - 2 (BALLAD FOR YOU, R3)
7th CS - 2 (Marmalade Reverie, Abyss)
8th CS - 7
9th CS - 5
USA - 4 (jelly kiss, THE SHINING POLARIS, Dancin' Into the Night, MUSIC TO YOUR HEAD)
10th CS - 12
RED CS - 18
HS CS - 31
DD CS - 21
GOLD CS - 16
DJT CS - 13

The arrow pointing up on EED means you have to get BITL and clear it first in addition to all 4th style songs. | Oh I never looked at purotora I just heard from someone at S3.

And of course, the song was actually on the game...it was just really difficult and weird to unlock. I mean, I'd still take the Bad Maniacs thing with a grain of salt, but I'm sure it's ther.

I think they had time and budgetary limitations when making Empress and it shows, which disappoints me, but I think that's quite a different thing.
The rest of your post is pointless rhetoric. I think it was pointless reviving so many new songs onto Premium Best, hence Premium Best was disappointing for me. If someone else hates earlier styles but has a hardon for playing DJT songs on the Empress interface without switching discs then I'm sure they'd just love Premium Best and that's entirely up to them. But I'm not going to pretend that it's perfect just because Konami moves in mysterious ways and we can never fathom the true significance of their intent.

They get basically another CS style with most of the good songs on the newer styles for free along with Empress.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | Do you think more people have Troopers or 4th style?
Do you think people who got into the game recently are more likely to own several recent styles than they are to own a bunch of older styles, and Empress?
Do you think people who have been playing the game for a long time are likely to not just own every style anyway?
Even for people who do not own every style, including more revivals from older games would actually have a greater chance of giving them songs that they did not have access to already.
I'm also not quite sure why you think Konami would be actively trying to benefit people who own less of their games.

Marketplace Rating: 1 | Actually, until Empress+PB I hadn't bought a CS release since Happy Sky, mostly out of money issues. I thought buying the Premium Best disc was a great deal for me to get quite a few awesome "revivals" from newer styles I didn't own. That's just me though. I know I'm the exception to the rule.

I have to point out that your opinion of the game is not the final word on Empress CS. There are other interpretations of the game that make perfect sense. I can understand your opinion, and I'm trying to show you that it might not be as bad as you think.

I agree that PB isn't as useful or as good to someone who has played for a very long time simply because they have most stuff already. But down the line when people want to get into 2dx or buy a really good style, there's no reason not to get Empress + PB as it is definitely the most value out of all of them.

I can honestly say I really didn't really think much of the special editions this time; pins seem like a huge downer, especially since they have the pictures from 10th style. I bought the Special Edition of DJ TROOPERS just for the calendar, haha.
I don't have the game, so I cannot judge, but I personally am looking very forward to it. The CS originals are actually pretty good, in my opinion. Not as good as GOLD's, but they are still great nonetheless, and EMPRESS's song list are pretty good since I like several of them from the beatnation albums (Bahram Attack, Fly Above, etc). Premium Best is a convenience since I can play songs I like without having to switch discs cause I'm lazy like that, and I think even though the Archives mode is a bit tedious, it was a cool idea.
Am I the only one that doesn't hate HAPPY SKY's timing, too?

Good luck with that. Quote:
