no, PC DVD drives are region-encoded for movies just like DVD players

You can change the region of your DVD drive (there's usually a maximum number of times you're allowed to change it though) but you may not be allowed to change it to region 0, although IIRC there may be a way around that

There's also a program that can trick your DVD drive into thinking it's region 0 but it doesn't work for some brands

I don't remember too much off the top of my head so you might want to check Google

Just get VLC media player. It plays pretty much everything and it's free. That's what I did until I got my jps2.

Yeah, I think it's used for Internet Ranking. I never participate in it, though, so it doesn't really matter w/ me.

Question about the empress palace, as far as the OMES goes, do you have to play one of those 3 with hard on for it to unlock? I can clear himiko with like 10% left, but I'd like to give it a go without the HC crap.

If you're playing it on Another, then yeah, I think so (according to VJ Army). Otherwise, if you do the songs on Normal, you just need to clear the songs w/ As or higher.

I'm not sure Empress has internet ranking....

I think it could be for rivals?

I never use rivals though, so I don't know...

e-Amuse uses your region for various things, I dunno about EMPRESS CS though (I dunno if you can set your target for your graphs as the local average or local best in the CS version but that's the only thing I can think it would be used for)

So after a week of playing Empress and Premium Best exclusively, I got a little bit more than "excited" to go back to Troopers today. After playing for 20 minutes I realized I like Troopers better, by a lot.

After the initial "OHMYGODNEWSONGS!!1!" with Empress, I played all of the songs I really liked from the soundtrack. And that's pretty much all I played. And it got boring. There are a couple good songs but none that really stand out. Unfortunately, my favorite song is not from Empress, but rather a Sirius preview.

I'm surprised at how uninterested I am when playing Empress, because it seemed like a much stronger game when I hadn't played it. Not saying it's bad, because it isn't, but I was expecting it to be better than Troopers, and it's just not.

Apparently, there's no Internet Ranking. The official site doesn't have a section dedicated to it and finishing an Expert/Dan course does not give a password anymore.

It should arrive this week. Mine shipped on the same day & it said 5-10 days, so I should get it either tomorrow (I doubt it) or Tuesday (that'll be 10 days).

Yea I passed all the expert courses today and no passwords At least they kept the Empress Place system.
