The important thing to remember if playing on original is to set your tv to 4:3 as well as the game, otherwise yes, you will get phat lanes and phat notes.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | I play with the game set to Original, and my TV set to 4:3 like in sutsena's first and third pic. But I keep the movies in 16:9 so none of it gets cut off. It works fine for me. I would put everything in 16:9 mode if the PS2 didn't put a black outline around the screen.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | Am I the only one here who plays with arcade 16:9 lanes on a non 16:9 TV?
I feel more comfortable with the arcade settings, and it feels weird to play on the Original style :/

There're still loads I've never actually seen (who gets time to whilst comboing?)

Hmm, it's been over 2 weeks since the last update. When will they reveal Bad Maniacs?? I'm getting tired of unlocking pics, especially the ones that have multiple versions!

I can't believe konami is making us go through all of this just for one song. I mean sure, Bad Maniacs is an awesome song, but it's not worth doing all this work for it. Please release an unlock code Konami.

Hazard mode was meant to be used with this, and not just on normal charts. Try the hypers in hazard mode, and really try full comboing them. I got through red and 9th style's pictures from attempting hazard clears of most of the hypers on singles and doubles, and when I hit a brick wall with as much as I could do, I switched to hard clears and started over with the anothers. The purpose of this unlock system was to make us better players, building up to a song that really requires all of that practice. If you approach it from that viewpoint, archives mode isn't really that bad.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | It's not that it's hard unlocking them all, it's just tedious & repetitive, what w/ having to improve the EX Score & having to unlock multiple versions of pics for RED through DJ Troopers. They should've made it so you only had to PLAY a song to unlock a pic & if you had saved data from past games, then all the pics you had unlocked in that game would've been unlocked in Archives. I could've been done by now, but I gotta re-unlock RED through DJ Troopers (though it's nice to be able to see the picks I couldn't unlock, like the Dan Doubles, 8 Dan through Kaiden, & the OMES from Red, HS, & DistorteD).
I got Gold & DJ Troopers done. Now all that's left is RED & DistorteD. Then gotta play a Kors K song (what did I have to do again? Double Battle or something?).
While I'm thinking about it, who do you get the different versions of No Crime? Doesn't it involve holding Start & spinning the turntable? I always get the English version & want to hear the 2 JPN versions.
Well, might as well get the rest of the pics....
FINALLY. Got all the pics in Archives. Now, just need to AA a Kors K song on Another....Again, isn't there an easier way to doing this?
