You shouldn't even have mentioned this part at all. The only way to *legally* aquire .iso images of ANY game is to have a copy of the game yourself already, and either aquire the rip from someone, or most likely rip the game yourself. Every other method is Piracy and talk about it violates BMS Terms of Service. I could infract you into the stone ages with those 2 posts, but I'm not.

I think it's perfectly fine to start with, but if you want to get better you need the other styles. I second GOLD as an excellent style to start with. Or 6th style so you watch watch his majesty LISU and his dreamy forearm and hand.

Where you can't even mention that piracy does indeed exist...but mods CAN make borderline racist, offtopic comments.

After you've really gotten into IIDX and really decide that you want to continue playing, then you pick up a JPS2, Modded PS2 and some JP IIDX titles.

It gives you a very good idea of how the core gameplay mechanics work so you can find out for yourself whether the game will even interest you or not.
It's cheap, comes with a functional controller and works on american PS2s.
You will be missing out on better themes, interfaces and songs, but the core gameplay of Beatmania IIDX will still be the same in Beatmania US.
Even though Beatmania US is arguably the worst version available, it's still the easiest and cheapest (legal) way to ease yourself into the game.
The difficulty curve, although still quite challenging, is much more forgiving and easier to get into compared to the import releases.
Once you feel comfortable with the game and you know you want more, check out the import IIDX games and get yourself a JP PS2.

advantages of jps2? | |

advantages of jps2? | I don't know if backup, iso, swapdisc and system modding discussion is allowed here. Therefore I didn't touch on the subject to be safe.
There are cheaper alternatives though.

Its also probably due to the fact that the last 2 pages of both empress cs and the test location of 17 sirius has nothing to do with either subjects D:

Marketplace Rating: 0 | ^^ I'm thinking about picking up BMUS from Gamestop~ Something to start off with until I get a JPS2... ((I'm hoping that is soon)) Since my Flip Top Cover didn't work at all. ]:
Stupid Question:: For BMUS.. You can use the JP Beatmania Controller right? XD Because that's all I have.
