Stupid Question:: For BMUS.. You can use the JP Beatmania Controller right? XD Because that's all I have.
i believe there are no stupid questions
anyhow, controllers do not have region protection

ok anyone thats actually looking at importing im pretty sure already has a good impression of the franchise.

Considering BMUS has the most beginner friendly songs and a good chunk of older songs that still haven't made it to a style with a modern GUI, its a pretty good style to start with.

who the fuck cares if it has a handful of bad licenses and a purple interface oh man how devastating cause iidx has NEVER had bad songs before BMUS...

Alright! ^^ Thanks you two...

:> Well the Swap Magic is cheaper but if you are willing to dish out the money, then go for the JPS2... I'm buying one because the Swap Magic didn't work with my PS2.. (( I don't know why either.. :/ ))

Or you could buy my brand new modded PS2, I dropped the price to $180, which given what it is and it's condition, I think is a good deal. IMO, a PS2 with a mod chip is superior to either swap disks or a JPS2 for imported games. The modded PS2 can play both NTSC-U and NTSC-J games with no swapping or fuss, it just works.

The only real advantage as far as I can tell is you don't have to deal with disc swapping or top flipping.

The cheapest way of modding your PS2 is the Independence Exploit, IIRC (I think you'd only need an Action Replay, and POSSIBLY Swap Magic) which you should Google because I don't really get it

And yeah, just get BMUS, in addition to being a great beginner style it does have some really cool songs

Though the easiest way would be to buy that guy's PS2~

Also if a fliptop and swap magic didn't work you are doing something wrong or ordered the wrong swap magic version which would be hilarious.

Yeah if anyone has any questions about buying a "Japanese" Playstation 2 that will play "legitimately acquired/purchased" IIDX games...just PM me. I'm using a "Japanese" PS2 right now.

Bought the right version/cover and everything. Things placed back in order~ The CD must have been scratched [[ or something in the lines of that ]] And it came in a very cheap box.. =/ I had a bad feeling in the beginning~ As a girl, I'm surprised I even got my PS2 back the way it was.. =3='' I'm better off just buying the real thing instead of the 'cheap' way. But at least I gave it a try~

Your above post makes 0 sense.

Why didn't you just install the cover yourself?
Also, of course swap magic comes in a cheap box, it's an illegal disc from a third party company. I have been using swap magic for a few years and I have never had a problem getting it to work even though my disc is scratched to hell and my ps2 is almost 8 years old.
