Beatmania n00b-controller question.

Since GameStop was selling the Beatmania(U.S.) bundle pack for only 29.99, I broke down and decided to purchase it. This is the first beatmania game I've played and I was a bit disappointed at the overall song list, off-sync timing, and the absence of GOLI's famous artwork but still liked the overall premise. I plan on purchasing some Japanese ports in the future so my question is...

Does the Beatmania(U.S.) controller work with the JPN versions of Beatmania? If so I could simply buy another 30 buck bundle for the 2P side instead of blowing about 70 for a similiar JPN controller. I wasn't sure if the U.S. controller had different mapping.

Yes. It works perfectly with the Japanese versions. Congrats on finding a cheap, superior American controller. I've had no such luck finding myself a second controller for doubles/girlfriend

Thank you very much for your help. Heh, my GameStop had about 4-5 bundles that they couldn't get rid of during my last visit. If there's any left, I'll definitely buy another and trade in the game disc for store credit.

Wow. That's amazing.
Everytime I went to GameStop or EB, they were ALWAYS sold out. It's funny how where I live, beatmania was always sold out and HARD to find, yet no one seems to say anything about it.

Yep, that's the one thing that everyone agrees the US bundles are good for. Cheap superior controllers
