Marketplace Rating: 0 | Beatmania songs v. DDR songs Is it just me, or are the songs that are the same in DDR and Beatmania a little different between games. Like the song "V" by Dj Taka is different in Beatmania and DDR.

Same goes for stoic, sync, 蒼い衝動 (Aoi Shoudou) (Blue Impules), L'amour et la liberte, Burning Heat!, xenon, A, and more. There can also be different arrangements from DDR to IIDX, such as SP-TRIP MACHINE (JUNGLE MIX) and PARANOiA MAX (DIRTY MIX).

But for many songs that crossed over in EXTREME, the overall sound was changed. For example V (for EXTREME) has a louder bassline and one part in which an additional drum riff is played over exsisting track. Frozen Ray (for EXTREME) is another example, as it has a different ending.
Some songs have two versions which are even more significantly different sounding (if that's appropriate grammar). L'amour et la liberte and KI-SE-KI are examples of this, and they are usually indicated which version the edit was intended for [i.e. KI-SE-KI (IIDX RED/DDR ver.)]
When going the other way around, crossing over from DDR to IIDX, there is usually no change in the edit. There are acceptions with the earlier crossovers: SP-TRIP MACHINE (for beatmania II) and PUT YOUR FAITH IN ME (for beatmania II).
When the song is going from IIDX to DDR, if it is around the prefered length for a DDR edit, then the song won't be touched. For example, Electro Tuned, Holic, Jam & Marmalade, TwinBee, route 80s etc. However, some songs, usually crossed over in the X-box DDR series, are close to or over 2:00 and haven't been edited at all. These songs include both versions of Infinite Prayer, Nemesis, fly through the night etc.
Bottom line, if the crossover song is over the prefered length from it's original game, it will be shortened. If it meets or is under the prefered length, it probably won't be touched at all.

A, similarly, is just missing a few measures in the DDR version.

"For Extreme" implies that it's an altered version, doesn't it? Of course "V" is the original and "V ~for EXTREME~" is the changed version.

ps: it'd be cool to play the Don't Stop DDR remix in Beatmania, just for a change.

I guess to better fit the feel of what DDR is and possibly to make it so the usually rather simple steps make sense with the music.

But the new ones frequently are over 2:00, like A, Murmur Twins and Beyond the Earth.
