right it works like that I guess, but the range you can pick for goes up to 191, then all the sudden 300.
I want to get two so I can play double but I can't find any more copies at local stores and can't just a controller on ebay. Plus I want to import another version of beatmania. Would it be retarted to try to use a us controller and a japanese controller at the same time?
No, it wouldn't be retarded. I have 2 JKOC's and 1 USKOC. I tend to use the US and a JP for doubles. Although as mentioned before about the performance of the different pads; I've had the USKOC since the game came out, a key is just now starting to stick, although with these the sticking is much worse than the JKOC. But, hopefully you won't have to worry about it for a year or so. But the turntable definitely needs to be modded on the US.

Yeah one of mine is sticking really bad, like sometime i can't even get it back up. It's my far left black key. I modded the turntable I think I'll try to mod the keys like you would mod japanese keys and see if it helps...
I've had two different keys begin sticking for the first time and got confused that all I did was take everything out and put it back together and it worked fine again. Then I took my PSP case and put it on top of the keys and it hasn't stuck on me again.
