And Quantium, you need a degree in common sense. A lot of the stuff you've said recently makes no sense whatsoever.

Yea, huh? We've been taking about the speaker ring color and industrial design, not free stuff.

Speaker ring colors don't change by themselves.

And KONAMI doesn't give whatever you need to change ring colors out for free.

I understand that, I was JUST saying that when Konami builds the new AC machines, I figured it would make sense for all the lights on the machine to match the theme of the game, ie. HS = blue, GOLD = yellow, etc. That's all.

Yeah they do.

They always do.

Otherwise, how can second-hand machines be sold to other parties if the sellers can replace theirs with newer ones?

P.S.
Japan obviously gets the biggest chunk of the new production DJT machines.

Outside Japan though, only around 20 units are exported to Asia.

5-6 units in Hong Kong
4 or so in Singapore
8-10 in Taiwan

And if the unit that we get (from Hit Style) is a 100% brand new unit, then that would mean 1 unit for the Philippines (still considered as official sales).

It's generally harder to recover investment for BM IIDX. The only advantage that this game has is a lower maintenance cost (esp. for the TT and the Sanwa keys) as the components last longer and are more resistant to constant abuse compared to parts and components of other BEMANI games.

I thought they only got new monitors but not new cabinets.

And it would be a BIG waste of money to buy a new cabinet every time a new style came out.

Granted, if they do not see any significant ROI, then yeah you're right in that it is pointless.

Though there are cases wherein establishments are chains (with more than one store) so they're are times where buying a whole new cabinet *could* make sense (then they'll just send the current unit to the other branch or branches)

I remember when IIDX Asian Version "returned" (through a IIDX GOLD release) last August 2006, TKA apparently bought FOUR Brand New units of the game (2 in Bugis and 2 in Plaza Singapura ; all of which are VERY close to the mass transit/train stations there) to start the launch of BM IIDX in Singapore. Again, no one knows if they found it to be worth of an investment......or perhaps no one knows as to why they made such a bold move.

Sure they have the money (they now have around a total of 36 Maximum Tune cabinets spread across 9 locations all over SG) but was that the reason?

Perhaps, since they ARE the official distributors of Konami products in South East Asia, then I guess they're just doing their part to promote the game in their own establishments (?).

Well we can hypothesize, but I guess it was a strong earner for them.

So come DJT, they bought four upgrade kits along with two BRAND NEW units (with the new LCD). One brand new unit goes to Bugis JCT and the other brand new unit added to Plaza Singapura. In exchange, two "older" units from these locations respectively had been transferred to Bishan Junction 8 and Century Plaza Square (to take advantage of the recent e-amusement service added there).

Total of six DJT units for that nation.

In the case of Hong Kong, there are at least 10 locations. Five-six locations/establishments are confirmed to have bought brand new units for DJT.

Yet personally, I only know of one that has it:

MK 88









You can obviously tell that the owner is rich. Unsurprisingly, he owns the most number of MT3 cabinets in any single location (he holds the "world record" at 24 machines in one store).

Knowing him, he'd buy a new cabinet everytime a new version gets released and sell one of the existing cabs to other places (like here in the Philippines ).

In effect, he'd still have two machines everytime in his store.

How come the music select song is different? (not the real system music of DJT???)

Could it be that it was hacked?

But how can it be as this is a legit Asian Version of DJT Beat#3 machine from Taiwan with e-amuse up and running. (wherein the server does a check on the HDD and data drives for any tampering or illegal modification).

How is this possible?
