Default Bemani Artists?

How does one come to be selected as a Bemani artist for games such as Beatmania?

This topic should be moved to General Bemani Discussion.

Attend programming classes and schooling that Konami offers in Japan, and be lucky enough to have your music considered for the Beatmania series when Konami is looking for potential artists among their talent pool (Taka). Or, be the friend of someone who does all of this and get shoehorned in since it's the two of you that make some of the songs (TaQ).

Or submit an acceptable and winning piece of music for the rare Musicianship Trial contest that Konami puts up. Ask Ryu or kors k about this.

Otherwise, become a world-renoun musical artist (in a sense) and make a timely release of something that becomes popular and can be edited into a two minute timeframe for sheet music and you're in. I don't know how the agent to Dr.Bombay or Atomic Kitten got them into 3rd Style, but it happened.

So your choices are -
a) Attend their school, and surpass everyone else.
b) Win a contest.
c) Become an actual musical artist.

Easy enough.

Yeah, if you become a well-known artist, I'm sure Konami would be more than happy if you donated songs to their games! I know that's what some artists do in Guitar Freaks.

Default Help me!

Well, I guess it's all up to me then. I must take over the world!... Ok that would never happen, and I'm not that power hungry, but it would be nice to get well known enough to accomplish such a height. Oh well, if anyone enjoys instrumental electronic music, check out my new tracks at www.bandspace.com/harrysbronzecoffin, or you can click the new banner below. There's some older tracks available as well, complete with lyrics/guitar, but they're pretty out dated compared to the material I've come up with recently. I feel my programming skills have improved in the past year or so.

I also plan to make simfiles for the tracks, along with others in the future, if anyone would actually like to hear/play these, let me know! I'll actually get to work on it.

Man, it'd be so awesome to go to a school that Konami has to offer. I've been programming for about 3 years now, but I always learn something new and always get a hold of new software. I love using Fruity Loops though. Anyone else here do programming? If so, what do you guys like using?

That's the case now, but in the earliest games in the series, the original Guitar Freaks composers were Konami music composers whose backgrounds extended as far back as to the 1980s (Mutsuhiko Izumi, Sakurai Toshio, Ueko Harumi, Motoaki Furukawa, and Maeda Naoki had all been at Konami for at least 4 to 10 years prior to Guitar Freaks). So working as a standard music composer for Konami might help too..that's how Akira Yamaoka got into IIDX..

I don't think that teranoid is a Bemani artist. I believe that her tracks in the game are considered licenses/commissioned originals.

That would be the same thing for sampling masters MEGA and sampling masters AYA.
