Best IIDX old styles

I feel like picking up a few old styles. Which ones are the best? I already have 7th.

Despire 3rd Style's many flaws, it has a fantastic songlist and actually had the biggest songlist until 7th Style

okay, I would like to know the deal behind the whole Gobble thing now. Other than that it hasn't been on any AC version I got nothing. IIDXion doesn't say anything, and SSS(VJA) is oogling over it being difficult on double (?)

It's basically that it's so hard on double that even auto play cannot full combo it. Just like Sana Morette Ne Ente BLT Style.

EDIT: Also, 3rd Style is great cause of the songlist and everything. Just remember to turn off the videos otherwise you can't score for shit.

No, the computer full comboes it, but it is really f-ing hard on 14 key.
Get 6th style for lots of quality licenses. The Vincent de Moor songs are hella fun on doubles. Also, tatsujin videos! LISU one-handing V ftw.

Hmm.....

When you say old styles, I assume that these are pre-9th titles (i.e. their arcade version counterparts used Twinkle Hardware instead of the BemaniPC hardware we have today).

In that case, this list may be subjective but here it goes:
1) 6th style
Drill mode, lots of Avex licenses, tatsujin player vids, etc.
2) 7th style
I started out here and has the most beginner friendly SP songs IMHO (of any old version)
3) 8th style
Neat system music, graphics/interface (for an old version) and tons of songs.
4) 4th style
It has Fantasy (which you can't find in any other PS2 version to-date)

Yup that's pretty much it

I even had 5th style before and it wasn't even there. So yeah, it looks like it's exclusive to that version (4th style PS2).

Oh, and 5th is worthless IMHO (save for Kiss Me All Night Long which is a trainer for my one-hand play technique).

Most of the timing problems go away when you turn the videos off.
