Marketplace Rating: 2 | Is BMUS as bad as people say it is? It's sitting under my Christmas tree right now, but I can't play it yet. I ordered it mostly for the controller but I've never played before so I want something easy to start up on. I know people say the songlist is bad, but is that it? Or is it just compared to the JP mixes and it's a good starting point?

Anyhow, BMUS is fine. Its songlist pales in comparison to the JP games, but it's still solid in its own right if you can get past the ridiculously ugly interface.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | bmus would have been fine if it was released exactly as it came but four years sooner
or before guitar hero at very least
its all a real shame because some parts of bmus were clearly made well like the redone five key videos and the licences werent all terrible
but comparing bmus to third style which came out five years beforehand its pretty clear that they had a lot of potential which they just ignored or squandered
so how about that bmus2 that was supposedly going to come out some day eh eh

Marketplace Rating: 0 | It's certainly fine to start off if you've never played beatmania before, or barely have. Once you hit the 6s or so, you'll probably want to grab a Japanese one, since the lack of songs will certainly bring you down, as will lack of other features that you are grossly missing out on.
And interface is horrid, yes.

Only gripe I have is that they don't show you the ex score unless you play expert mode. Also the "easier" chart for Music to your Head [H] is so much more fun than the regular 7k.

My friend, who played on the KASC until US came out said all his scores went up when he played on the US controller, therefore, I'd say it's at least as accurate, if not more so than, the JP controllers.

Marketplace Rating: 1 | But the USKOC isn't as resilient to beating as the JKOC.
After picking up my USKOC after playing on my JKOC for like 3 months I broke key 3 in 2 days. Less even.

My USKOC has never, ever had sticky keys. That's something I couldn't say for my two JPKOCs. Due to that, I still use my USKOC, and I did so for over 2 years, and it hasn't had a single problem since then. If it wasn't for the US controller, I would have quit by now, and if it wasn't for BMUS, there wouldn't have been a US controller.
I've heard they're easier to break, though. Be careful.

Less even. | Broke meaning what, that it doesn't respond to presses anymore, or that you broke one of the feet on the keys? I call BS, cause I've had my controller since like two months after the game came out and it still works to this day. I've just broken a lot of the little feet off the bottom of the keys.
