Total Tokens: 20,923.47 Donate Tokens | The BPM increases in Get On Beat (Wild Style) & The Safari So I noticed that, along w/ The Safari, Get On Beat (Wild Style) was introduced very early in the IIDX life (3rd for TS, 4th for GOB) & both had BPMs of 134, but then in 6th Style, both of them got increased to 150 BPMs, which can be played as revivals on Red (The Safari) & Gold (Get On Beat (Wild Style)) with their increased speed. So I was wondering 3 things:
1.) Why did this occur? Was it planned? & why 2/3 Styles after they were introduced? Personally, I liked the slower Get On Beat (Wild Style) (the faster The Safari is slightly better than the original 134 BPM). It couldn't have been so they could make the song shorter.
2.) Why a 16 BPM increase? Why exactly 150 BPM?
3.) If Get On Beat (Wild Style) got a BPM increase, why not the original from 2nd Style? Is it cuz the remix was done my Lion Musashi/DJ Taka (not to mention he also did The Safari under that name)?

| Maybe he just wants it to be increased to exactly 150.
I don't think this needs a reason lol.

I dont think thats why they would want to speed it up though, I guess...
a. songs were to long
b. songs sound better faster.

Total Tokens: 367.21 Donate Tokens | I don't know the direct answer to your first question, but at the time I got the impression with 6th Style as a whole that they were trying to step in a new direction, away from 5-key beatmania for good. It was released between DDR 5th MIX and DDRMAX - also, trying to step in a new direction (no pun intended). The earlier versions were noticably easier, and the two songs were probably the two hardest songs at the time. When 6th Style came around, they added shining sevens, didn't they? If that's right...and I'm too lazy to load it up and check...then you can sort of see a context behind it. It's like they wanted to bring it up to speed (literally) and make them harder. If you look at it this way, this changes the questions altogether, especially the first question:
1. Why not raise the difficulty of V and Regulus? Because they were new and people liked them the way they are.
2. Thus, why 150bpm? It's the same BPM as Colors, also by dj TAKA. Don't know if this is to do with it, though.
3. In part, already answered, and in part, not difficult enough. If anything, they would have changed the note chart to make it harder. Like they did with 20,November.
I don't know if this answers your questions, but they're possible answers, and it's actually quite interesting if you look at it in the context I put it in.
Also, I thought Get On Beat was a licenced track (explains its absence later on), and I never liked the faster version of The Safari myself. Love the original though.

I always thought they made it harder by changing the hi speed mods in later styles (4th's HI SPPD PLAY!)
methinks gurty has a point, it makes it a bit harder / forces you read a faster scroll rate

We can still keep discussing though, I like to see what other people think.

IT was because that was the original BPM of the songs but back in 3rd Style (that's when they premiered right?) people weren't good enough to play them.
In fact, that happened with one more TAKA song, but they just pushed that one all the way to 7th Style. A was ready by (again, I think) 3rd Style but was too hard for players at that time so they pushed it's debut until 7th Style.
At least, that's what was rumored.
Or was it confirmed? I have no clue.
But yea, I'm pretty sure it was just to make them harder.

Although I don't see why they could've just been remixes...

I mean if you could say, get paid to either just speed up a song you previously did or have to make a whole new remix of it, which are you going to do?
That's how I look at it.

Or was it confirmed? I have no clue. | This is indeed true as it is written in A's ARTIST COMMENTARY on the IIDX 7th Style homepage.
