Default Building a doubles deck

ok so i decided to build a doubles deck so i have something to do in the summer. I am using the controller on my computer. I have a few questions. I DONT WANT TO USE KOCs

how do i make a turntable? would 2 arcade spinners work? I can link if you dont know what i am talking about

what would be the best thing to wire to? I can solder if needed

Thanks... If I have more I will post in this thread

Arcade Spinners will only work directly if you are using a KOC circuit board. If you want to use the spinner on a regular pad, you'd have to build an extra circuit for the spinner. The only person I know of that's built a IIDX controller from scratch, and used an optical encoder (spinner) is FOXFIREX

He has a page showing the Turntable circuit, but I don't think he wants people to link that without permission.

Also, have you thought about using the encoder from an old ball mouse?

I noticed.. he sent me the link but it is confusing as hell... I know how to build one for the computer.. I just want to be able to use it on my ps2 when i get tired of the version I have for computer

Do you know what kind of circuit dao sells? I can buy then for 6 or 7 bucks so i am thinking it is just a psx controller

I am ordering my buttons from him since he sells sanwa separately and all the LEDs =D

lol, instead of building a controller alltogether?

If not, JKOC and USKOC circuitry is pretty much the same

Hmm I've heard something of that, but it'd be a lot cheaper to buy some USKOCs. Also, I'd hate to see two JKOC being sacraficed :'(

But if you do, I'll buy the JKOC Keypanels off you

I decided against using kocs again lol... firefox has been awesome answering emails so I think I can manage. This project has already cost me $340 and all I have is the sanwas and the encoders =( i hope i don't have to spend much more. I am going to build this in a few weeks so I will update again soon
