Marketplace Rating: 0 | Cardboard mod for the JKOC My JKOC has arrived, and it'll be a while before my copy of DistorteD gets here, but I'm just wondering if the cardboard mod is recommended to everyone, or just high-level players.
I've barely played it before since the machine over at Replay sucks, and is only 10th style, so I'll only be playing Light7 until some time next year, taking this into account... Should I bother doing the cardboard mod?

But yeah, if you just want to lightly mod it, then the card mod is definitely worth doing, and only takes about 10 minutes.

Considering I won't have this controller for more than a year, and I doubt I'll be doing any higher than about level 6-7, I'm just not sure if I should bother.
I suppose I could pop over to my cousin's house over in Caboolture since he's good with this stuff, but that's quite a Bus trip, carrying a big, expensive controller right through Bogan territory, too.

Instead of cardboard, you could use the method I used:
The Five-centavo mod (or similar to the famous Eurocent mod).
You stick those miniature coins in and the keys of a KOC will never stick hehe.
P.S.
Granted I'm not sure as to what the smallest coin size is available in Australia.....

BemaniAK, the difference in responsiveness and feeling didn't seem any different to me, I only did the mod to stop my keys from sticking, so you could just leave it, until the sticking (if any) gets unbearable.

This is a lie.
The keys will still stick (but not as much as if it were unmodded). It will make the keys so sensitive however you can breathe on them and they will activate.
I have euro pennies in my KOCs and they still stick after every session, but that's prolly because I'm heavy-handed and I play 4+ hours at a stretch.

However I only used the DVD case squares under the keys, although I've shaved quite a lot off the top and bottom of my keypanel key bits.
Overall using the plastic from the DVD cases is about 100% better than cardboard, I kept having to replace the cardboard and so far I've yet to change the DVD box bits after a month of use.
Although you'll have to loosen the screws a little bit to allow the keys to travel, or they'll barely travel at all which isn't much fun.

Konami should have taken more time testing the products, quite a high stick rate isn't there?

Unfortunately, the sensitivity increases way too much that if you're caught off-guard.
Granted, I still went for it with that risk in mind. Quote: |

| Thankfully they corrected this with the US controller.
Yet unfortunately, no one imports this product anymore in my country which sucks.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | Alright, I'm getting one of my mates to come round tomorrow and he's going to help me out.
I expect that a Coco Pops box will be good enough?
How much a difference will gluing them make, besides making it a pain to take it out if I want to replace the cardboard?

I couldn't care much about noise (as I don't hit the keys hard or with much force in any way).
So this controller could satisfy my needs.
Only problem though is when you connect this to the PC, it's hard to match the polling rates of this thing.
Oh and the fact that no one sells it in my country just makes things harder

USKOCs are perfect, but the TT is pretty lame.
My solution? Take the USKOC Keypanel and merge it with the JKOC TT/Base
Sexiest KOC everrrrrr.
