Total newcomer here, the best thing near IIDX I've played is O2Jam/Mania and DJmax on a keyboard, and a simulator which "simulated" the 7keys on a beatmania controller. I was completely thrown off by it and quit.
Now I'm more interested though in these sorts of games again, since I know more info about them.
I'm kind of in a pickle now deciding which controller to get along with the problem to know in which forum to post, but I think it's sort of appropriate to post here. (If not, really sorry mods and could you please move it to the section you guys think appropriate?)
The problem is that I'm doubting to get a basic JKOC from Play asia, since the price is fair (although a bit expensive for just a controller) but it gets the job done. Plus ability to go with joy2key and an usb converter which I already have (Smartjoy dual plus) makes it easy to use on PC.
(I'm not in to pay 200 euros just yet to get a DJDao, since I want to START playing IIDX normally)
...but I'm also a big DJMax fan, and seeing as they released the new MUSE-ON Controller with EIGHT. keys instead of SEVEN, I have no clue what to do now. (Especially because they're aiming for an International release! If they aren't, I'd still get the Korean version off play asia but I'm patiently waiting)
Is it worth getting the MUSE ON although it has been getting negative ish reviews to play 8k mode on DJMax Tri or not? What is the best option a beginner in controllers (I play OK on o2jam/mania, not a speed guy yet with super reflexes)? Personally I'm leaning towards the JKOC but then I'm kinda bummed that I'll miss out on DJMax which is new, and really awesome.
What should I do incase I get the JKOC IIDX Controller for DJMax?
Thanks to anyone who could give me some advice!

I do not have any experience with the Muse-on controller, and I do not know if it is good or worth the price. This is just from someone who has a US KOC. This topic seems like it may be better suited to the simulation or DJ MAX forum, though.

Total Tokens: 824.07 Donate Tokens | I've been hearing a lot of complaints regarding the Muse-On controller, specifically more towards the length of the springs used under each button.
Apparently the strings provide way more resistance than necessary, making Trilogy an unecessary pain to play. I can't imagine playing IIDX with buttons that take significant effort to push down; not without developing some kind of wrist/hand injury.
Ask the DJMax board, they may be able to provide more feedback on the subject matter.
I do remember looking up a guide though of someone dissassembling a Muse-On while attempting to modify the button springs so that they became less resistant, but I can't recall the URL for it. You might be able to Google it up, or someone from the DJ Max board can link it to you.

OP, give up DJMax - IIDX is much better.

I guess I should, DJMax is playable on a keyboard anyways, and up to 7key can be played with the IIDX controller . Sides I'm not the super modder myself so if it starts giving me problems...
(I should have faith in Konami after x years of making these anyways xD)
I wouldn't be making a bad buy right (getting the JKOC from Play-asia)? There's no place where it's cheaper to buy or to get from Europe? (Went to a few import stores and they have NOTHING)
No DJDao yet...But just to know, can people play on higher levels with the JKOC without too much hassle with going "OMG I NEED NEW CONTROLLER!!!"?
Thanks for the replies guys

Screw hooking up a KoC to a PC, seriously. | Glady, but I haven't found anyone who could send to Europe without asking for 40$ just shipping costs though. Checked several sites. A french site sold it for 150euros (=200$) so no help there.
(Anyone who could help here = appreciated)

I went through two and none of them worked. They ended up using a random memory address that didn't match with the configuration settings for the parallel port drivers.
I actually ended up building a seperate system entirely with its own integrated parallel port so that I could use my DJDao with the included adapter.
How did you get this to work?

(Anyone who could help here = appreciated) | If the prices are that high where you're looking, you're probably better off getting a JKOC from play-asia.

Also Parallel is totally outdated so if you're getting a laptop with a parallel port you're looking at 2004 models and shit.
