The fact that TAKA didn't give these English vocals to AiMEE (who is caucasian and was perfectly able to sing English elsewhere) is way beyond me.

This is my review for CD 1. Not to be taken as a global standard, i.e. These are my thoughts, and not reflective on anybody elses thoughts. Unless they agree with me XD
My Review of DJ Taka’s Milestore

CD 1

01 – Quickening (6/10): As much as I didn’t like quickening before this, for some reason I liked it this time. Good pumping beat, and interesting melodies.

02 – Tomorrow Perfume (Vocal Version) (8/10): The opening melodies in this song are just absolutely beautiful. I think the singing adds some nice qualities to it. I really enjoyed this version actually. Much more than any version I heard beforehand. (Especially at 3:36 ). Ugh, the oohs and ahhs were nice, but I don’t particularly like the singing vocals. Somehow they feel off with the song. I think the vocals are just too low pitched.

03 - Votum Stellarum (Forest #25 Remix) (9/10): Wow.. in just 1 minute I was so very amazed. I love the direction taka took with this song. This just has that extra kick that always gets me wanting more. The little interlude in the middle (around 3:00) is very very nice as well. Overall, very nice remix.

04 – Absolute 2007 (3/10): Now, I’ve never really liked absolute so we’ll see how I like this XD. I like the beginning. Personally I just don’t like the main melody though. Not much of this is changed. Its pretty much the same, save for a few more undertones here and there, and a few more minor changes. Again, I never really liked the song in the first place, and this is no different. Sorry Absolute fans. I just don’t really thing the new beginning and end fit with the rest of the song. Alone they are great, but with the rest of the song they aren’t as good at all.

05 – V (Conclusion) (9/10): Wow, this song is so much more epic and awesome. Its like taka did this with an actual orchestra. The extra change of percussion really brings the music to a new level. The sound is amazing, the melodies are amazing, everything about this song is great. As much as its been overplayed, this version beats out the other by a very large margin.

06 – Pandora (English Version) (8/10): Well seeing as I haven’t heard the original I cant compare the two. On this song alone, I really like the melodies and the feel to it. I don’t like the vocals mostly because you can’t really understand what the hell she is saying. Other than that, it’s a really beautiful song.

07 – Thunder (9/10): As always, this is a very well done song. The vocals fit perfectly with the music, and the music is very well done. Can’t say much about this except that is it really awesome. The additions to the song fit in very nicely as well.

08 – Snow Storm (Original Mix) (9.5/10): Again, I don’t really remember the other version of this song. Wow this is really nice. Its really soothing and very very interesting as well. I really like the mix of styles taka used for this song. Hah, wow the more I get through this song, the more I am loving it. Very well done taka.

09 – AA (9.5/10): (We all know I’m going to like this no matter what XD). The beginning is very nice. It almost sounds like a different song in the beginning. Different style, but it fits. It sounds a bit more epic than it used to. Oh, ok so that was just an extra long beginning, now its at its regular part. This part seems to have changed slightly as well. Extra sounds here and there. Ahh, now the added ending parts which have a little bit of an 8-bit feel to them. I really like this actually. Adds quite a bit to the awesomeness of AA as it stands.

10 – Inori (8/10): (Never heard this before). The soothing melodies are quite nice. The vocals are pretty sweet as well. Well, taka has kept me interested for the full 7 minutes and that is just awesome. It was a very nice melodic trance song.

11 – Blue Rain (9/10): This is one of my favorite types of music. Not sure of the exact genre, but I really like the synth leads, and the general mood of the song. Good kick beats, with trance saw synths driving the beat right to your ears . Really nice song indeed. I could listen to this over and over again.

12 – Lower World (6/10): Ahh this song. I remember now. I really like the string parts of this song. Everything just seems to flow together very nicely with this. The only real difference with this was a longer beginning. Didn’t seem very different at all. Oh well.

13 – Frozen Ray (8/10): Well I love frozen ray and this version still delivers for me. As anticipated, its just a longer version of the original. As much as I would have enjoyed something a little different, this is still the frozen ray I enjoy.

14 – One More Lovely (After Hours) (8/10): As much as I enjoyed the original. There is really nothing new and/or innovative about this version. It feels like taka just took the original. Added a few bars of the same thin here and there, and called it “after hours”. Now don’t get me wrong, this is an absolutely amazing song, but I just don’t feel like taka did anything with it. (The original would get a 10/10, but assuming this is supposed to be a remix or long version, then I am disappointed).

Heh, I swear I heard stuff like "whore", "castration", and "fruitfly" in the lyrics when she sang em'. I never really cared too much about Tomomi (the original Japanese vocalist for Pandora) but this is such a downgrade. But the musical difference from the 10th style OST is subtle but really nice, IMHO.

Taka didn't put the oboe back into Thunder.

I am saddened.

I must be the only one that thinks vocals give music character.

I really enjoyed pandora.

I was so afraid of the MOON remix since, well, it had Erika Mochizuki. I had no clue what YAMAOKA was going to do to turn it around.

He's fucking brilliant. Downpitching her voice actually makes it listenable, and I love what he did with MOON. Quickie remix thoughts:

spiral galaxy: A little too much like every other remix of this song, which I have heard far too many times and am pretty bored with already. The second half is a lot better though, L.E.D. does his stuff. Good, but doesn't stand out, mainly because I'm so bored with spiral galaxy by now.

THE SAFARI: Pure brilliance. Ryu owned this song so hard. Amazing remix.

Don't Stop!: I like how it starts off, but it gets a little too busy and dirty near the end with the drum'n'bass freakout. Also not one of the most prominent songs in TAKA's repertoire. Decent though, I enjoyed it.

I'm In Love Again: Two words: SPRING RAIN. YOSHITAKA just totally threw this song onto SPRING RAIN's bassline. As such, I was bored with it pretty fast. I like the song but... it doesn't feel that much different. Just like a mashup between SPRING RAIN and I'm In Love Again.

rainbow flyer: He remixed the vocal version! =P Not very different, much like how Love Is Eternity's remix was to the original, but this is not a bad thing. In fact, though Sota has trouble with variety at times, I don't care, I love his style, this is great stuff, a very nice, ambient remix.

Giudecca: This is Giudecca? I mean, I vaguely hear it, but seriously, this is really boring. A lot like Remo-con's remix of desolation. Doesn't seem like Remo-con does lengthy remixes very well. Oh well.

A: The winner of the remixes. This is a masterpiece. That is all.

MOON: As mentioned, I love what YAMAOKA did here. It's awesome. Exactly what I was looking for, and he managed to make Erika less crappy by downpitching her voice. Kudos~

Kotti: Disliked the original song, but TOMOSUKE managed to make it pretty inoffensive and worth listening to. Not my style, but I can appreciate a well done remix, and this is a well done remix.

memories: Did TAKA re-do the vocals or something? They're a lot better this time around. This sounds like what the original was supposed to be, but fell awfully short. I like it, it needed the good-cool groove.

Nageki no Ki: At first I was really jarred by the jazziness, but then again, what was he going to do? It was already pretty orchestral to begin with, and I love the direction Kubota took with this. The arrangement was surprising yet entirely satisfying. An excellent addition.

GRADIUSIC CYBER: There wasn't much of a song to begin with here, and there isn't much of a song in the remix. Except, somehow, there's even less of one. It's a nice track, for what it's worth, but it's not a remix of anything. Really strange. But I like it, despite that. And really, what would you remix GRADIUSIC CYBER into? LEADING CYBER? A blender?

Tangerine Stream: I LOVE YOU NAOKI!!!!!

Colors: TaQ is BaQ and just as great as ever! The ending is masterful, damn, I was feeling it, that's for sure.

Actually, it sounds as if he just took any full recording of the 1st movement of Vivaldi's Winter and simply added beats and TAKA sounds to it. Ironically, it means that he may have spent less time making this version than the short IIDX version. Anyway, I must agree that this version sounds much better anyhow.

As for the album in its entirety, I don't feel as if I have to make any more positive comments than already stated .

I just listened to Wana and Honey, and concluded that this memories remix is sung by good-cool himself, which is sweet in itself.

Uh...I hope you just mean "what happened to her from IIDX?" If not, then you've really been missing out. ƒA[ƒeƒBƒXƒgLia / Lia's Cafe She actually has quite a discography and even released something HUGE a week or two ago.
