What the base is made out of.

It looks like the RES is made mainly out of sheetmetal whereas the PEE V2 is nearly all plastic.

The body of the Real Edition is made to resemble the arcade, down to the turntable sticker and the padded handrests on the lower edge.

The PEE 2 has a rectangular body, and apparently is 1P<>2P reversible.

any vids of the RES?? im really curious in how the controller sounds n stuff, im wondering whether i should go ahead and purchase it...since i am getting more hooked by the day to IIDX..

It sounds virtually identical to the arcade. The differences are so minor that they're not really worth mentioning.

I made a terrible quality video that doesn't represent how it sounds in real life at all.

I just received my Dao controller, and the turntable isn't working (major problem) and none of the L.E.D.s are lighting up (don't give a shit). I hear a rattling sound inside the controller as well.

The turntable and lights not working greatly resembles what happens when you don't have the USB plugged in (for power). Assuming that you have plugged in the USB, I would guess that some power connector somewhere came loose in shipping. Open up the back and give 'er a quick look-see. If its not obvious whats wrong, take a picture and folks'll help ya out.

I opened it up and I fixed the rattling sound. It appears one of the screws came off, so I fixed that up. However, TT is still not responding, so here are some vague pictures.

Judging from this and from seeing some pictures of a DJ Dao controller's electronics through flickr here, there sould be two wire components for the TT, but I see only one in mine (unless this is an "older" model"). I wouldn't think that there's much of an electronics difference between a PEE and the FP7.

Hey man,
Your controller is wired up fine. The old TT PCB used to have two wires coming out of it, but all new ones only have one, so it looks as though yours is complete in that sense.
I think that it might be a case of having a defective circuit board, either the main one, which your TT connects to, or the small PCB which holds the actual TT sensor.
Perhaps check with Dao and he might be kind enough to send you a replacement for free.

I will ask him for a spare part when he responds to my E-mail that I sent out on Tuesday. Besides, I'm missing a few nuts.

Before then, I'm also of thinking about checking the parts inside the actual TT itself. I want to make sure that the wire that goes deeper into the controller isn't loose or faulty as well, so there might be more pictures later on.
