Thanks for the response, Trick. The process sounds similar to what I did when I swapped out the keys on my DASC, so it should be easy to swap them out once I get the RES.

Now I just need to wait for my bank transfer from my Japanese bank account to my USA bank account goes through. Then I can send the money from my US account to dj dao for the RES, hahaha.

Well I got my RES the other day! This thing is great! I went for the Green DJ Troopers theme, with green TT lights and green lights for the white/black keys. For the Start/Select buttons I went with blue lights. I chose the dao/honeywell combo and when I got the controller I swapped out those for the sanwa/omrons that I already had.

I think the thing "wrong" was that the hex screws around the TT came loose during shipping. Since I already needed to open it up to swap the keys, it was no problem putting those hex screws back into place. Anyway, here are some pics (clickable links are a bit big, since I didn't resize them, but photobucket made the file size smaller)









I've had no problems getting used to the controller, since I play AC all the time. I just have to get used to playing CS again and get used to my CRT tv. (On AC I usually play on the newer plasma screens).

the site says all these are compatible with both ps2 and PC but they mean with the LPT converter right?

or did they finally somehow put a usb feature on there... They should really do this already, I mean Hori HRAPs and other usb controllers work well on the PC...

Yeah, it would look cool if it was a decal, but it's just the reflection from the DJ Troopers "intro" reflecting off of my tv screen onto the ASC. In the 3rd pic you can see the "DJ Troopers" logo reflection.

@junkimchi: The ASC has a Playstation connector on it and it only uses the usb plug to power the led lights (the same as on my dao Pop'n ASC as well). You can plug the controllers into a usb->PS2 controller adapter and use them on your pc like that. The LPT adapter that came with the ASC works much better than my current usb->PS2 adapter. There is pretty much no lag with the LPT adapter, unlike most usb adapters.

yeah crap... I've done extensive research to try and get iidx controllers and basically looked at every single usb adapter and the general consensus seems to be that LPT is better than usb in all cases. The only thing is I have a laptop I came across these though 1-port DB25 Parallel Printer Port PCMCIA CardBus Adapter - PDB25P1PBUS1 - Buy.com Does anyone have any experience with these on their laptop?

OMG, my pop'n music ASC finally arrived, and all I have to say is, OMG!!! it's so sexy lol. Definetly gonna have a lot more fun playing pop'n with this.All buttons work and lite up via USB port. So awesome!!! Came with a Pop'n music carnival sticker sheet too, whats that about? And I will consider purchasing that cardport for my HP laptop, I really wanna play party with this controller!
