Marketplace Rating: 0 | Do you feel weird when playing an old IIDX version? This what happens to me all the time...
Whenever a new CS version of Beatmania comes out, I always rush to play it and spend like hours on the game. Then whenever I tried playing like an older version, everything feels funky, and it just makes me wanna play the newer one instead.
This happened when Happy Sky was released, I played that all the time, and I didn't play RED as much as before, but later when DistorteD came out, I started playing that a whole bunch, but now I can't even stand Happy Sky at all...I started playing RED again, and it was fun after getting some time to get use to the interface, but when I started playing 9th Style and 10th Style, I was turned away when there was no "Ghost Score" to keep track of my records.
Do this happen to you when you go from like Distorted and all of a sudden playing 8th Style, with a different interface and style of gameplay?

Marketplace Rating: 1 | Short answer: Yes.
Difference in timing, speed mods, and I believe even on 3rd style it lags a little on some songs if you don't turn off videos.
And are these obvious answer, topic-already-discussed-573-times threads you seem to make really necessary? (Edit: Besides the effector thread. I've never seen that anywhere before.)

Marketplace Rating: 1 | The only change I see when I play older styles after smashing distorted is that my scores skyrocket like 50 ex points.
Like I played Distorted for a week and shit, then threw in Happy Sky and bam AA In The Sky [A]

Marketplace Rating: 5 | I still play 9th way more than 10th - DD, but I play 10th - DD about an equal amount.
Anything before 9th does feel a bit different though, with no moving frames, lower quality sprites etc.

Marketplace Rating: 4 | The older styles are a bit harder to read for me. I guess it's just the difference in resolution and those weird ass blue and green lane flares. Chord heavy songs get a lot harder for me to do. Most of the time i end up 50-100ex worse on an older version than a newer one. I don't really mind the timing differences though, unless we're talking about 8th style. ugh.
The lack of .5s isn't much to me because i could always attempt to towel out the difference.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | The major difference for me between the styles would be... LACK OF SUDDEN+. I really wish I didn't grow to be so dependent on sudden+. My TV here in college is way too small for me to use a towel, and in addition to that, the difference of timing window in each style makes me too lazy to adjust to different timings in general. The only styles I play now are RED, HAPPY SKY, and DistorteD; I'm still satisfied, though, because most of my favorite songs are on those styles except for a couple handful (which I can still play at the local IIDX GOLD machine back at home).

Marketplace Rating: 2 | I only feel weird until my eyes adjust to the lane flares. Its as if your mental brain processing power speeds up so you don't need to see the note traveling down, you see it for a split and know exactly where it is and when it'll land.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | Kind of. After playing Happy Sky for a few months, I decided for some reason to play the US version. It felt so bright that my eyes hurted.
For some reason, DistorteD feels really easy (over 1,100 DJ Points) compared to HS (930-ish) & Red (800-900). When I get a new style & play tons of it, I go play the older mixes (Red & HS) & I'll be able to pass some songs that I couldn't do when I 1st got the game. Kinda like what m335h73r of lmaonade said. It might feel kinda wierd when I get 10th Style (& maybe 9th if I'm convinced)

Marketplace Rating: 0 | I agree with both those statements. BMUS is brighter kind of. I normally play 11-13th. I love 10th but I hate not being able to change speeds in midsong.I wish 10 could do that as well.
Once I was at an anime convention and a guy had 8th Style so I decided to play it... it was just weird and it was all... wel...OLD looking. I couldn't get used to it but it was fun still. Hmm... I wonder how I'd do on 1st Style/substream... or any beatmania for the PlayStation....

Marketplace Rating: 13 | I love 5-key beatmania, and the 3rd - 8th styles of iidx are just another version of beatmania. To be honest the only thing that I miss about the older styles is not seeing a grade after each song...
