2) Modify your playstyle. Currently, you've probably got your thumb covering 1, your pointer for 2 and 3, middle for 4, ring for 5 and 6, and pinky for 7. You're passing 9*s in less than 3 years with that playstyle? Thats decent. My suggestion: Be willing to fold your thumb under your other fingers. My suggestion for how to handle scales:
1index 2middle 3thumb 4middle 5thumb 6ring 7pinky. Also, if you've only got a little bit to worry about with 1-3 range, just let your thumb handle it and move all your strong fingers way over to the 4-7 range. Pick a style, start with the 4*s, and move your way up, trying the radically different playstyle, at least 5 songs per difficulty. Even try a "thumb is never used to hit 1" playstyle. Its helpful to play a song or two like that now and again. | Thanks for the tips. (To clarify, when I passed the 9s, I was playing 2-handed. Haven't passed anything beyond some easy 8s since switching to 1-handed.)
And you nailed my finger placement, key for key up there. Although, I was consciously thinking about my playstyle during songs over the last couple days, and it turns out I do fold my thumb under and use it for keys 3 and 5 more than I thought. Still need to do stuff like this more. And I'll make an effort to try your specific suggestion for scales.
When I first started playing, I didn't mind taking time to practice tough sections through training mode, and I think this really does help. As time goes on, I find I just want to play for fun, and am too lazy to "train." My own issue to work through, and probably the main reason I progress so slowly now (aside from just not playing as often).

Marketplace Rating: 0 | Being able to clear some 10s (Dazzlin' Darlin, Max Love, Be OK, Beautiful Angel, Rise'n Beauty, Rising In The Sun, Shift) but not being able to getting enough of those last notes in Cannibal Coast.
Seriously, I'm so annoyed of songs that are easy but then for the last few seconds or bars or a section near the end, it gets hard enough for you to fail. Crazy KINO, CaptivAte -Sabaki-, Troopers, & others come to mind.
Oh, & getting 78% at the end of the song, especially when you're really close & there's a few more notes so you're thinking "YES!!!", but you're just one Just Great away from getting that 80%.
& being able to clear harder songs, but not songs that are considered easier (i.e I can clear some 10s on Hyper, but not some 9s...)

still good job | Heh thanks. I've lot all my respect for that song now!
But it makes sense that it's an 11, if that crazy crack-addict of a song The Strong Jaeger (Ryu* Remix) is an 11. They're honestly not much different, in terms of the difficulty.

Marketplace Rating: 1 | The only part that makes in the Sky a 12 is the last 5 or so measures.
Strong Jaeger is an 11 through and through. The only tricky part is the final 3 measures, and even then it's easier compared to in the Sky.

the end is like, jacks with like 4 crazy chords followed by a blue note scale in the middle.
