basically i want to know how everyone uses their controller. i basically only use my index fingers (both) and middle fingers (both).
And for the turn table, i'm currently using my hand to spin it, minus thumb. I read something about pinkys scratching, how can that even work? my table is REALLY stiff and it's kind of an effort to spin it. is my controller defective?
I think the main problem i have with things like Presto on Hyper is that i can't use enough fingers, when it does all 7 keys for example. also V (Normal) because when the turn table comes up, it's already doing the back-n-forth notes .__. so since the lifebar is so hard it drops a lot. I did get a C on it though. XD
any tips or links to technique topics are greatly appreciated!

And for finger placement, as everyone will say, play how you feel comfortable . There's no right or wrong way to play.
Personally, I play as
right hand ~ Keys 4 - 7
left hand ~ Keys 1 - 3/turntable

also. i'm not comfortable with anything because i don't know anything. if someone has a video of a really good player showing there hands, it could be helpful. or which fingers to hit which keys with, i'm willing to experiment. =)

Total Tokens: 289.80 Donate Tokens | My info, for the op. Left hand (1Pside):
pinky for TT
middle and index for left three keys Right hand:
index, middle, and ring for the other four Pros (IMO dear god do I feel like I need to say this twice, IMO):
easier to bullshit notes(i.e.clear songs well above your actual level)
good for long fingered people Cons:
bad precision
scratching hand has too much responsibility without thumb
Your turntable problem is a simple one; just mod it. Wax paper, for the whoosh.
Just practice. Typing about how you don't seem to be getting better is a waste of energy. :\

If your turntable is really stiff then there are mods to loosen it. You can probably find them in the sticky or just do a search for it.
I don't know how big your hands are but pinky scratching works fine for most people. Just scratch with your pinky and use the remaining fingers for notes. Pretty self-explanatory but whatever.
Your problem with the game right now is reading the notes, not so much hitting the keys. Just play the game and you'll develop your own playstyle which you may or may not decide to change at a later date to improve.

Total Tokens: 64,284.64 Donate Tokens | My hand span is about 9.5-10 inches and I only pinky-scratch when necessary. Through fairly scratchy areas I tend to use my right hand for more keys than usual. I've found that (while not pinky-scratching) the more keys your dominant hand can manage, the easier parts with a lot of scratches become.
As far as basic hand formation goes, I use my ring-index on my left hand for the TT and keys 1-3, and my thumb-ring for keys 4-7. Thumb usage definitely gives you more control.
