Has anyone else started playing piano because of IIDX? Did you have a easy time adjusting? Is it safe to assume that our "heightened" finger dexterity and hand eye coordination make the learning process easier?

Not a huge amount of Dexterity is involved in IIDX, it's more the ability to read note patterns quickly and press buttons in a pattern, whereas piano has strict finger positions and a lot more movement of wrists and hands.

I have to learn how to do this with a pian because instead of 7 keys, it has... what... 88? I'd think you'd use your piano skills to play IIDX because I notice myself using some piano fingering posissions when playing IIDX such as crossovers and stuff. I have the musical skill to play a piano, I just have to learn where the keys are. I can already play it simply, just gotta get more used to it.... so really... IIDX won't help you play piano, but playing or having some knowledge of the piano would help you learn how to play IIDX.

After you learn one instrument, you pick up others easily.
If you really want to learn piano, just get a legitimate tutor, sit down and practice. It's 10,000 hours of practice and not talent that make virtuosos.

Yeah though, if you took piano lessons, that'd be better. I'm pretty ok with the piano and only have problems around it, so in that sence, KBM would help for getting around the piano, not IIDX. But KBM would only help if you already knew the basic fingering moves and posissions for getting around the piano. KBM would only help you get faster at it. IIDX won't really help at all because it's not like you're improving anything. You're going from 7 block keys to about 88 (varies depending on the piano you have) small keys. So to get an idea, try playing IIDX then playing KBM and you'll see.
Taking piano lessons would be good though.... plus it's a lot more impressive to play piano than it is IIDX. :P

Give it a shot. Memorize Frozen Ray on Real/Double then play it on piano, it will sound identical. Albeit, you have to find the right placement on the piano. (That's how I learned to play Frozen Ray, Ride on the Light, etc etc)

Hearing some IIDX songs played on Piano makes me wanna learn so much, such as some guy on Youtube playing the original composition used in Kakumei, and some other guy playing Bloody Tears, it sounds so beautiful <3
But I'm lazy... :3
