Total Tokens: 116.89 Donate Tokens | Happy Sky + Swap Magic, does it work well? I have IIDX 12 and I use Swap Magic with my slimline PS2. At first, all of the songs I played worked well. Xepher, POODLE, Spark!, SigSig, and a few songs that once worked freeze up right before the song begins. It just sits there, with the title of the song and the interface animating.... but no song and no notes come down.
I'm hoping that it's only my copy of Happy Sky... but, there are 2 perfectly circular lines underneath the game... is that normally there? Because it seems to be a scratch... perhaps from the PS2 (I can't imagine how it'd be there).
I think I'm going to download the ISO and burn off of it. Unless I can rectify
this problem..
Oh. My American games work fine...
Thoughts? Help? Advice?
All would be appreciated.

Reminds me of the time I made an extra copy of Metal Gear Solid 3 and it burned too much into the DVDR. ARe you running a legit copy or forged?

I know for sure that I used to play SigSig, Xepher, starmine, Spark!, and a few other songs that don't work anymore. I never even got to try Ore Wa Beatmania...
I rarely took out Happy Sky once I had it...
So. I'm guessing those 2 circles I wrote of aren't supposed to be there.

It seems only certain songs on my legit version seem to do this, the ones above included. My PS2 version is the 77001 model (the satin silver), and I'm interested in getting the songs working as well as restarting my PS2 every 3 minutes to reswap and make sure i didnt pick a certain song is pretty frustrating.

So, I guess this is normal for a Swap Magic thing.
My PS2 is a 750001. Well... is there anything at all I can do?
Though I suppose I can manage without those songs (barely, heh).

But I always remedy it during the part where the song starts loading by opening the fliptop, waiting a couple seconds, then closing it. The song starts just fine after that.
From looking at the laser and where it's directed, I'm guessing that the data of certain CS only and older songs are along the edge of the DVD. tomokosasaki, you got a solution that's not as annoying as mine?

As for the people trying out my "opening the flip top solution," make sure you open it at the point where the song has trouble loading. In my case, I hear a funny sound when it has trouble loading, so that's my signal.

I got the non-working songs going now, just at the expense of a couple extra seconds.
I wonder what's actually causing this to happen?

As for what may be wrong, my best guess would be that from the sound mine's making, the DVD may not be spinning smoothly. I don't want to sound like a dork, but for anyone who's taken physics or math, as the radius increases as the angular velocity remains constant, the outer velocity increases. When the laser has to move to the outer rim of the DVD, I'm guessing that the machine has to change its angular velocity to compensate. It's this change in angular velocity that must be causing problems for some odd reason. Too bad I don't know anything about the mechanics. I just found out a better way to play those songs. While choosing the song, waiting for it to load, and playing it, just leave the top open, period. Well, this worked for me just now, and I don't know if it's foolproof yet.
EDIT: I'm starting to think that it has something to do with bad fliptop design since when the song loads without interference (the top), it works a lot better. I tried every song just now without the top, and they all work really well 100% of the time.
EDIT2: I just closed the lid just now and tried a few of those songs again. For some odd reason, they work now
