Default Has Konami ever advertised BM at E3?

Even way back when they brought out the sorry excuse for BM with the US version, did Konami ever advertise the IIDX series at E3? I was watching this year's event on G4, and I kinda wondered why they never atleast had a poster, much less a machine there to expose those who aren't aware to it.

I think there were IIDX, Guitar Freaks and Drummania machines at E3 in the past. Not sure about now...

They probably did, but after the event, they probably realize that it was a failure, so they stopped.

they advertised the PS2 game, and the machine. Funny thing was G4 thought it was a cool game too, then X Play gave it a bad review

I dont even think they advertise the DDR machines at E3 anymore either, mostly because arcade games are not big anymore, and E3 is not really for arcade games, as much as it is for Console games.

The PS2 game was at E3 2005 (it was COMPLETELY different from the final release). And 2006 they had 2 SuperNOVA cabs, a GFV2 cab and a IIDX DistorteD cabinet. I was in attendance both years and have pictures somewhere, if I can find them I'll get them online.

They also brought some big names in the bemani world out to see it all. In 2005 I got to meet Hiroyuki Togo and Akira Yamaoka, and in 2006 Yoshihiko Ota was on hand watching people play IIDX.

I've got a few shots of the 05 beatmania setup.

They had this big screen up and occasionally inturrupted the amazing MGS4 trailer with beatmania
More of the beatmania trailer they showed on the big screen. I'm not sure why I kept this
beatmania station IIRC they had JP KOCs and headphones.
I loved being the person to post this. If only because I didn't get a real AAA on some random beginner song.

Most interesting things to note is that the interface was almost 100% 9th style and that the marquee is like black and red, which doesn't fit with either the E3 demo or the finished product. I don't think 5 key mode was selectable.

Could a black/red color scheme have been considered for BMUS? Probably not because they would have immediately seen that it was at least better than purple. :V

As a side note, I'm still a bit bitter that when I was at E3 we got BMUS, and the next year they brought in DD. :P

I really hope they expand E3 again. Because now-a-days, there is not enough room for all that stuff, and considering how many companies dropped out before E3, I can see they only want to attend the, what used to be bigger E3.

There needs to be a BM mini-game in Halo Wars to get it popular in America...
