Play-Asia is probably your best bet for buying new Beatmania stuff. If you dont mind buying used stuff, check out the Bemanistyle trading and marketplace, or even Ebay etc, quite a few things pop up in those
Not too sure about the PS2/3 adapter thing yet, I don't think anyone has succeeded with one yet.
I searched more about the ps2/ps3 adapter and I'm sure it'll work out for me
however when I visited play-asia, only beatmania games I see were jp versions
as far as I know american ps3 can't play jp or imported ps2(not ps3) games since they got regional protection crap -.-
I should have bought japanese ps3 since all ps3 supports english (T.T)

Hm. If you wanna actually play REAL beatmania IIDX, then you're gonna be playing the JP ones as there are no US versions. There is however ONE beatmania game in the US hat comes with a controller called simply... beatmania. If you look at Toys R Us you may find the game bundled with the controller for about 35$. I think since you're first starting off, that'd be your best bet... and look at the stickies here, they'll help you out al ot I think.
Yeah, the US bundle is a great jumping off point for anyone who isn't positive they want to go in whole hog.
Just keep in mind the tracklist on the JP versions are almost univerally regarded as being much better, so don't rule out the game based solely on what seems to be mostly subpar music.
the beatmania US bundle is definitely the way to go for starting out, I think there is even a thread in the marketplace right now for someone selling the game and controller as a bundle!

Yeah go with the US version to start out. I hear the controller that comes with it is better than the Japanese Konami Official Controller.
Just don't buy the rave discman controller...I got one when i started playing 5 key beatmania a few years back. Then my buddy got a 5 key KOC in Japan for the equivilent of 7 bucks and gave it to me...MUCH better.
Unfortunately I'm still stuck using it for IIDX till I can find a copy of the US Bundle.

Yeah I agree though. Don't toss t just because of the songlist and the Interface if that matters to you. I truely don't know what was going on when they pulled that one off...
