I dont even know why anyone would make a thread about this issue. Bottom line is, IIDX has too much of a steep learning curve to be popular in the US. The US CS version failed, the IIDX Gold Arcade test location failed, so be it. The Common american arcade goer will never take the time to learn how to play this game and become passionate about it, not only because of the learning curve, but because of the music. Not everyone is into J-techno, j-pop and such like we are, cause they've never heard it. Plus on top of that, the liscencing issues to get the game into the US will be a hastle as well. They will play it once thinking their gonna have fun with it, when they finally realize the game is hard and boring, they leave the machine, never to play it again(Trust me, I've seen this happen MANY times at the break). I've even seen it made fun of a couple of times. I also hate it when people go up to the machine and pretend their a bad-ass DJ when they know nothing about the game, and this is also another form of making fun of it. I'm sorry, but this will never, and I repeat never be popular in the US except a very small portion of american gamers that will take the time to learn it and are passionate about the game like us. I just dont see it being outside this audience. My cousin isnt gonna play it, my other friends arent gonna play it, my parents arent gonna play it(Though they still don't see the point of the game after showing it to them multiple times). Sry, but this will never be popular here, and it shouldnt have to be. Case closed, my work here is done.
