How does one play battle mode on different levels?

I've noticed people playing battle mode in the arcades on different levels of difficulties (P1 hyper/7keys, P2 normal/light7 etc) instead of both players playing the same level.

How do I do this on a IIDX Gold machine?

I've done a fair bit of searching on both remywiki and this board and failed to find the answer.

Please forgive an unfamiliar newbie who hasn't lurked enough.

I would really appreciate the help.

This is just a guess but when player two joins in, wouldn't they just press the button on their side to switch modes?... or maybe there is no button...

WHY THE HECK DOESN'T KONAMI PUT THIS FEATURE IN THE PS2 VERSION!!!!??? NOT VERY BRIGHT, KONAMI!

This feature is only on IIDX GOLD so far, and will presumably be on DJ Troopers. To use it, press and hold the players start button that you want to change difficulty on and press the VEFX button to change difficulties.

Actually, technically..it's hold VEFX and press the player's Start button. (not to be a dick or anything)

If you hold the Start and press VEFX you will get the ghost.

Note: You have to be on battle to do different difficulties. (at least I think so)

Sorry, I knew it was one way or the other. I just haven't played GOLD in a long time.
