I understand that this would be much expensive on Konami's part, but think of all the possibilities that making the transition to PS3 would bring to the series.
#1 - You would now have 5-6 times the storage space, this way, they could give us the whole arcade song list and THEN SOME!
#2 - They could finally optimize for HD resolutions at home.
#3 - Along with #2, they could optimize the timing so it would be dead-on on all our LCD's and plasma's.
Yes? | |

Yes? | 1 - How do they make money?
2 - You can get HD res on your PS2 if you have the right stuff.
3 - Is setting the time really hurting you? No.

Or something.
The PS3 version would be a waste of Konami's time and money. They'd have to issue new controllers and stuff. It'd just be annoying for them and maybe 1000 people would actually play it.

| I don't think it's possible to get HD resolution from the PS2 since it only outputs up to 480p.
And releasing the complete arcade list on one blu-ray disc? Sounds convenient for the consumer, but how will Konami make money if they essentially produce 1st-14th styles on one disc? | |

| AGH FUCK MAKE IT STOP
THERE ARE SO MANY REASONS WHY KONAMI WILL NEVER DO THIS IN ANY BEMANI GAME THAT IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH DISC STORAGE SPACE WILL YOU PEOPLE STOP ASKING THIS OVER AND OVER YEAR AFTER YEAR AGH
---------
To provide a real explanation, once Konami releases a "full IIDX game" for a home console with 500 songs or whatever, each person will have essentially the entire IIDX song catalog (minus whatever handfuls of old songs were removed) on one disc.
So, sticking with that 500-song number for the sake of argument, when "IIDX (n+1)" comes out, it'll have...guess what, 500 songs, or 550 at most. Since Billy already has IIDX (n) with 500 songs, he doesn't see the reason to shell out $65 for IIDX (n+1) when only 50 songs (10% of the total songlist) are different from the game he already has. "I already have 90% of these songs, why are they still charging full price for this? WTF OMG KONAMI IS GREEDY"

#1: Konami will barely make any benefitss.
#2: There's no point; it's IIDX, what do you really need high definition for?
#3: I thought there already was an option to fix the timing.
Yeah uh, let's consider the downside of making GOLD CS for both PS2 and PS3. | |

And no OP, I'm not calling you dumb.

Disguising a turd as a diamond is a great idea. Bonus points for wasting time, effort, and money for a game that barely 25000 people purchase.
After that, lets make DJ Troopers have every song from GOLD CS and make that game fucking worthless. I'm sure the fans of the series wouldn't feel pissed off at all. | |

The PS2 can support a variety of resolutions, 1080i, 480p, and 480i are the 3 that I'm aware of, but it might be possible to set other non-standard resolutions in that general range.
There is no "delay" on the PS3 controllers. (I can't speak for PS2 or USB adapters...) When properly set up, with hardware that doesn't lag excessively, and software that renders at 60fps like it "should", the PS3 is as responsive as any other 3D system. I would say, most people don't have all 3 of those factors most of the time, though. The PS3 encourages people to go out and buy new home theater hardware, and a lot of it is junk or was not designed with gaming in mind. | |

Marketplace Rating: 2 | in Japan IT COULD work, but why would they do that. Konami sells the arcade games, and they know arcade fans right off the bat wont buy the game because there is a arcade that has it down the street. Not alot of people own PS3's, in Japan, sure its selling O.K. but I mean there are so many people that own PS2's (they sold like hot cakes, I mean I bought 3). The PS2 still dominates the PS3.
You also are missing a VERY big picture. Peripheral timing window. It would be delayed if you use a PS2 controller, and if they were to make a PS3 beatmania Controller, I would imagine the same thing, because my PS3 miss-times everything. | |
