IIDX DD Cardinal Gate Help Plz

What exactly are the requirements for accessing the cardinal gate? I've tried getting A's on all 3 songs with increasing difficulties (4,5, and 6...no extra stage). I've gotten an extra stage with 2 A's and a B (5,6,7) but no cardinal gate.

Gotta have it on Hard with no Random/Mirror/Autoscratch/5-key. Hi-speed is ok, just do the difficulties in order like you were and you should get it.

Ok, the official website says that you need at least B for the first two songs and A for the last song to unlock the extra stage, it also says that you can use Easy and Flip, hard is not necessary but random/5 keys and auto-scratch are forbidden. It didn't mention any minimum difficulty requirement though...

To access the Extra Stage, clear the final stage and succeed in doing one of the following:

* On a Level 5/6 song, clear the song and Full Combo it
* On a Level 7 song, clear the song and have 100% on the Groove Gauge
* On a Level 8 song, just clear the song.

If you wish to unlock CARDINAL GATE for selection during the Extra Stage, choose one of the following

To unlock CARDINAL GATE and all 4 songs with their NORMAL difficulties:

* Pass your first two songs and get a DJ LEVEL of B or higher.
* On your final song, get a DJ LEVEL A or higher, and follow the Extra Stage criteria.
* HARD is not required, and you are permitted to use EASY. RANDOM/AUTO-SCRATCH/5KEY is not allowed.

To unlock CARDINAL GATE and all 4 songs with their NORMAL and HYPER difficulty modes:

* Pass your first two songs and get a DJ LEVEL of A or higher.

Might as well drop my question by too...

I'm just wondering how to unlock the Kinjishi frame. on Remywiki it says:

"Kinjishi: Play 嘆きの樹 in Standard Mode using the Cardinal Gate system, OR clear the CARDINAL GATE course."

So does this mean I just play through arcade mode as I would to unlock Cardinal Gate, but then instead of entering the gate, just select Nageknoki?

The Cardinal Gate songs are not normally selectable in Standard Mode, so you will have to reach and play Nageki no Ki (嘆きの樹) as the One More Extra Stage, or clear the Cardinal Gate Expert course.

I have a question about the CG in general. Do you have to unlock in standard mode or can you do it in free mode also? I've tried using the 5,6,7 formula in free mode, but nothing ever happens. Also, on the IIDX wiki page for DD, it says CG can be unlocked by holding start+select at the "game start" screen. Does this work also? I've tried, and again, nothing happens.

CG will be unlocked only in Standard mode, although you can play CG songs in Free Mode. After you have unlocked CG (I think) that's when the S+S option becomes available.
Someone confirm/deny?

You have to have the first 4 CG frames (not Kinjishi/Nageki's) before you can do the Start+Select trick in free mode. Either accessing CG 4 times (and playing a different one each time) or just playing through the Cardinal Gate course.

yes they dont usally effect the marking

If you mean just clearing them, then it doesn't matter.

However, if you mean getting the "special marks" so you can get OMES, then random needs to be off.
