Default IIDX Empress charity marathon

UPDATE- October 13th:

iidxempress on Justin.tv

The show will be Saturday, October 17th at 2PM US Pacific Time!

Alright, just ordered my copy of Empress. This is how it's gonna work.

Probably gonna stream it live on October 17th (it would most likely arrive by then, I assume.) If not then, it would be on October 24th.

Gonna stream through justintv.

Charity is going to go to a family in need.

Gonna play all songs and all difficulties on Empress disc.

That's about it... I'll submit this as a news item, so hopefully this will be successful.

Ok, so last year there was a DJT CS marathon when it came out by one of the BMS members, and it was fairly successful. He donated all the proceeds to Child's Play, and it was also a fun moment for the viewers.

I was considering taking this up for Empress CS (Not premium best), and wanted to see if anybody here would be willing to watch/donate. I'll be streaming it via webcam, and perhaps (unless any fo you know better) will stream it through justintv. It will be live, and it will most likely be on a Saturday for viewer convenience. I will be playing every song on every difficulty, and will not end the marathon until this is accomplished. Payments will be made via paypal and will be given to a family in need.

It was pretty fun last year, and I was a huge fan and supporter of it, so this year I'd really like to host it, and maybe even make this an annual thing where we can have marathons for future releases.

Sounds like immense pain on your fingers, but I think it'll be a great way for some of us to explore the Empress CS songlist.

I'll watch it, I also been playing beatmania 2dx along with some other games on justin.tv. My channel is "www.justin.tv/ideathi" and another guy named Bemani also plays it and pop'n music.

Ah, awesome. Well, I'm hopefully gonna set it up the Saturday after the game is released. Gotta unlock all the songs first, or course, so we'll see, but it will definitely be very soon after the release.

While I by no means speak for everyone, I'm sure there's interest. However, people are forgetful or might plain just not know about it. So I think it'd be good if you could get it advertised on the front page as a news post or something just to make sure that people are aware it's happening.

Plus it would help if you reminded everyone, say, the week of &/or a few days before the marathon.

Have you also considered the time you'll be doing it?

Chances are time wouldn't be a huge major problem, as the marathon would take around 9 hours, so most timezones would be able to see at least some of it.

Well, judging from the Dj Troopers marathon, it would probably take... around 16 hours, maybe shorter, so plenty of people can watch, especially since it will most likely be on a Saturday.

I guess I can try to get it on the front page, and of course I will keep reminding people about i.

Did that person play doubles as well? Because 90 songs x 2 minutes is 180 minutes (3 hours) and with usually 3 charts per song on singles, that should be around 9 hours.

Ideally, yes. But there's always responding to chats on the stream, entering scores on SSS as the case may be, selecting the next song and then loading it. That all takes about 0:30 or 1:00 per song. So, say it's 95 x 2:30 x 3 = 12 hours, approximately.

And no, he did not play doubles.

Who actually watched it last year, by the way?

I remember him doing it for a while...... I started watching around noon and I don't remember him finishing till very late...

I remember the funniest part was that he really wanted to do The Last Song last, but the random choice kept picking it.
