IIDX GOLD CS VIP room discussion

Since trying to figure it out in the general discussion thread is kinda difficult, I think having a focused discussion on how to get it might get us the answers some of us need more quickly.

for starters, here is what we know:

1) COMBINED grade matters (reason 1 below)
2) individual song grades do not matter, summary grade matters (reason 2 below)
3) must qualify for 4th stage.
4) Vanessa does NOT have to be unlocked at the same time (repeatedly proven)

REASON 1: a 2P Battle Off run that unlocked Vanessa [h] did NOT yield the VIP room. the final grades (after Vanessa) were an A (1P) and an F (2P).

REASON 2: a run consisting of two A's and two high B's did unlock the VIP room. the average grade at the end was an "A"

here is what we think are needed for the VIP room:

1) Song #3's difficulty must be above a certain number (8, maybe?)

I would like people to contribute their choice of songs and difficulty, the individual grades (preferably WITH the number of notes, J-Greats, and Greats), and whether or not the run yielded the VIP room. this will probably help us get the precise conditions down.

hmm.

i played 3 lvl 10s. all with hard and random, and i got into the VIP room.

How can you play 3 lvl 10's? You don't get a 10 until the 2nd stage. Max difficulty for first stage is 8.

I have played several times and gotten VIP every time doing plenty of different methods. With hard/without hard. AAA's, AA's, A's... Consistently doing 12's as last stage, getting a B or higher I always get it. I think there's a lot of different ways to get the rooms, so it's tough to narrow down to one specific way.

I have yet to get anything but extra stage without vanessa or VIP rooms. I only got that once, and Im usually only playing on hyper (maybe a hard normal or easy another), 5-8, sometimes a 9.

I got it by passing 3 level 8s (No. 13 on Normal, then 2 other 8-leveled songs).

he's 7(+)-dan. I'm 6-dan, and can play a difficulty 9 chart as my first song. this is beside the point, though.

that shows no random isn't nessisary, but could you write down the judgements on your next run (note count, J. Great, and Greats) so that I can see what the summary rank was at that time?

i've been getting VIP room in different ways too:

Method 1: lv. 8 (AA), lv. 9 (AA), lv. 10 (A) - all hard clears
Method 2: lv. 8 (A), lv. 9 (A), lv. 10 (B) - all hard clears
Method 3: lv. 9-hyper (AA), lv. 9-another (A), lv. 10 (A) - hard clears

i did get both VIP and Vanessa but i forgot how i did it...i'll double check and get back on that

Oh wow, I didn't know that the higher up in Dan you go the higher difficulties start off in Arcade mode. That's pretty cool. Did it just start with Gold, or was in previous CS games?

How I got the VIP Room:

VIP Room + Vanessa

1st Stage - Lvl 6 - AA
2nd Stage - Lvl 7 - AA (once was a AAA)
3rd Stage - Lvl 8 - AA (STARS*** -HAL remix- on Hyper)

All with Hard modifier on

VIP Room Only

1st Stage - Lvl 6 - AA
2nd Stage - Lvl 7 - A
3rd Stage - Lvl 8 - AA (again, STARS*** -HAL remix- on Hyper)

All with Hard modifier on

I played some easy tracks I remember, since when I got GOLD, I had played too much GTAIV. SO that really makes you slow. Since playing that game on 1080p seriously gives you framedrops with every step taken.

so is it safe to assume that to get VIP + Vanessa you have hard clear and AA your three songs?

No hard clear is required... I've done a test today with:
- all three songs being Normal 7* (in order, 星をこの手に / Hoshi wo kono te ni, FIRE FIRE and smile)
- ended up with 100% gauge at the end of all three songs
- FCed smile
- got all AAs
- no Hard used on any stage

I obtained both VANESSA and Rooms.

However, I think I might be safe to assume that, in order to get to the Rooms, you should not make a too wide gap of levels in the songs you choose to play. I remember having started by feeling of love Normal, ended with LASER CRUSTER Normal, got AAs on all songs, but only obtained VANESSA.

But again, I just might be right...
