tried feeling of love 2 [n] AA
turning the motor over 3 [n] AA
the smile of you n 5 [n] AA

got me just a regular extra stage

i played no. 13 [n] after that and got another extra stage though. i thought that was kinda weird. all were done with hard on (lawl "hard on")

Edit: I don't know what my grade was for No. 13...but it was probably a B

But again, I just might be right...

I did the song list that you listed but did FIRE FIRE, Hoshi no kono te ni, and the smile.

-Got 97% , 100%, then 100% Accordingly.
-No Hard used
-Got at most all B's on the three song

Unlocked VIP no Vanessa.

PS: Ill try to 100% clear FIRE FIRE and see if Vanessa is available but I doubt it.

I'm thinking it may be based on percentages. Maybe 80% accuracy or higher = VIP Room and Vanessa?

It makes no doubt that Vanessa is based on the grades you get during the game: Getting at least AA on all stages should enable it, if you satisfy the basic Extra Stage requirement of course.

VIP Room, on the other hand, seems to disregard grades and focus on difficulty levels instead... According to what Lurkingsalt has claimed, you can get Bs and satisfy the Extra Stage requirement (and apparently, the difficulty level requirements) and still be able to enter VIP Rooms.

Looks like we'll be getting to the truth before BEMANI discloses it... ^_^

I have gotten VIP room many times, But I have been trying to get my skill up so I play 8's and 9's, and even with some bad grades, I still get into the VIP room.

I think the numbers have to add up to something (Like 20 all together will any grade higher then C will open the VIP room).

Thats how we figured out how to get VANESSA every time when we tested GOLD in America, and it seemed to work. Try level combinations INCREASING, and the grade levels. I think That is a huge factor in getting it.

I made some attempts to discover the lower end of what works.

GHOSTBUSTERS [n] (3)
花吹雪 [n] (4)
Turning the motor over [h] (5)

Grades were AA, AA, AAA, all full clears. Earned Vanessa.

smile [n] (7)
星をこの手に [n] (7)
FIRE FIRE [n] (7)

Used Easy and Auto Scratch.
Grades were A, A, B, all 100% gauge clear. Earned VIP Room, much to my surprise.

I am pretty sure you need to pass a total of 20 to get VIP room, thats the only way i could think of how I got it every time.

I don't know how close it is to the Cardinal Gate system from DistorteD CS, but here's THAT system's specs to see if they match up with VIP room:

• Pass the first song with at least a B
• Pass the second song with at least a B. The second song's difficulty rating must be the exact same as or higher than the first song's difficulty rating.
• On the final song, you must pass a Level 5+ song with at least an A and do one of the following:
  • Finish a Level 5 or 6 song and get a Full Combo
  • Finish a Level 7 song with 100% Groove Gauge
  • If the final song's difficulty is Level 8 or higher, all you need to do is pass it.
• Any modifier is allowed for your final song.

I know this info helped me back in 13 because I'm on the lower levels of play. I can't even pass an 8 yet.

Could it be possible that this is the same as the Cardinal Gate system?

No. The post above you said they only got vanessa after playing a 3, 4, and 5 all with FCs all above Bs.

Maybe the [true] way of unlocking VIP Room is to take what is stated from the way to get Cardinal Gate on DistorteD CS, and just include in it that the 3 songs MUST add up to at least 20?

we know that's not the case - B-ranks have been able to unlock VIP room.

Indeed. I unlocked it with three B grades yesterday. It appears that if your difficulty total is above 20, you're good.

If you play 3 old songs without Random Option on,you are getting Vanessa without Vip Room,and if you play 3 new songs with Random Option on,you are getting Vip Room without Vanessa.
