not to discount your entire post, but it's Brunswick, not Burnswick. you only misspelled it every single time, thought I'd give you a heads-up

NOt to mention Burnswick as a corporate, (again that's "CORPORATE" not just that one bowling alley in that small town company) and Konami decided on showcasing GOLD in Illinois. "let us not forget that time in Illinios IIDX players" - this should go in an american IIDX bible. LOL.
You say that like D&B isn't corporate? Dave and Busters is a nation chain as well. Anyway, the nearest BZ is about 2 hour away from me, and involves crossing country lines, which I do to play Happy Sky right now anyway. Even if Brunswick zone does plan on getting Gold for their arcades, what's wrong with trying to get even more places to carry them?

Uh, you make it sound like it's a sure thing. The fans aren't the ones that pay for the machine, the venue does. If no arcades are interested in buying it, then what the hell is the point in bringing it over here? That's the point of featuring games at trade shows, to gauge industry interest and advertising.

EDIT: Off topic, even though most of their drinks are near $9, they'll get you fucked up pretty quick. Big ass mug of Guinness + Mojito FTW!
Lightweight =)

But yeah, their drinks are pretty standard bar prices (About $3-$4 for domestics, $5 for standard import beers, $5-8 for most shooters and bombs), but man, you ask 'em for a anything that can be made REALLY damn strong like a Liquid Cocaine, they don't hold back that shi+. That's why I enjoy drinking there, plus it's cleaner than GW (but not as many fun games).

well Ryan (at Brunswick ZOne) told me if it comes back, its going to Napperville for sure, so I wouldn't be suprised if at least some of the BZs will follow that action (dont ask why, just in my opinion they would).

also I am sure they will bring the machine here, just like they did the original Guitar Freaks, DDR, and Beatmania/HipHopMania, I mean they all pretty much failed when they brought it here, but they still gave it a try (1st GF being constantly being played at my gameworks location), so I dont see why they wont bring it to the U.S. and see the results.

Thats why we should do what we can and try to get some of these places to realize that there -are- people that will play em!

When their machines have failed in the past, and would cost a lot of money to build and localize the machines, they won't bring it to the U.S. "just to see the results." Businesses don't work that way. Like Baka Orochi said, bringing the game to trade shows, etc. is something they're doing to see the results, but you don't do a full release just to try it out and see if it makes money.

Yes, we're all very hopeful for a U.S. release, but waiting for the official word seems like it would be wise instead of just saying it's a sure thing.

That's the testing machine. If other BZ's get IIDX, that would only be in the condition that the game gets a release in America.

also to your second paragraph, you make it sound like you can upgrade a complete Mix 2 to GOLD, you can't, thats over 10 years old, not to mention 5 keys. Not to mention that GOLD is going to be way over $10,000, so the game is a bit out of the price range for normal arcade owners, try asking a big company, like we are trying to do, the result will work in numbers.
I never made it sound like you can upgrade a Complete Mix 2 to a IIDX anything. I said they haven't upgraded their Beatmania series since Complete Mix 2. And YOU make it sound like we're the deciding factor as to whether or not the US will ever see IIDX. Dont' get me wrong I would love to see it down here, but one location test isn't going to do anything for them. It's a very risky move for them to put a lot of money into an operation like this. Normal arcade owners have Battle Gear 3 machines, Initial D machines, Maximum Tune machines, you think those games are less than $10,000 for a double cab? If an arcade owner knows that a game will do really well in their arcade, most will have no problem fronting the money for it. ANYWAYS as I said before I would not mind seeing IIDX in a D&B's / Gameworks / Powerhouse.

Wow. Wow. Haha.

Just got a call back from the message I left on the D&B headquarters number (214-357-9588).

She said she was returning my message, that she forwarded everything I said to the amusement managers (i.e. the people that decide what games to buy), and they'd responded. She said they "saw the game at a convention in Vegas, ASI, and fell in love with it." She said they sincerely wanted to put machines in D&B locations, but they were having problems finding a distributor in the US and hadn't seen an easy way to import them. She said they were glad to see that there is a clientbase for it and that they will be on the lookout for it. I told her that Konami or Betson would probably be distributing it within the US sometime around August or September, and that they should contact them to see about purchasing machines. She said she'd forward that along to the amusements managers . She also said to keep checking in with my store's manager and with her to see about progress and send any other tips along to them to find it.

Cliffs:
D&B wants to buy GOLD ("fell in love with it")
D&B is glad to see that there is a clientbase
D&B is looking into purchasing machines

Keep calling in to show that there really is a fanbase and this is really looking likely

Dude. Massive win.

There aren't any D&B's around where I live (as far as I'm aware), but I'll try to find the closest one and give them a call sometime, especially since you managed to get the ball rolling.

Damn, Fall 2007 is shaping up to be a kickass season for American arcades in general.
