I found that in my first week of playing, when I was making the transition between light7 and 7key, the easiest songs for me to play were the eurobeat ones. They go fast, but the rhythms are really straightforward, and you can hear those parts very easily in the songs. Even the fast instrumental parts follow the melody exactly, so you have a good idea of what to do simply because you know what it sounds like. My first style was 6th, and songs like Yesterday and Romeo and Juliet made it much easier to go from easy, slow charts towards the harder, faster songs.

I think everyones biggest mistake is starting on light7.

The first time I ever got to play 2dx was actually in an arcade, and I was passing 5s on 7key.

I'm confused as to why so many people say Concertino in Blue is an easy 12...I mean I feel like I SHOULD be able to pass it but I know i can't yet, it's just to all over the place for me.

Just try all the 12s and pick ones that seem to be working for you when you get there. I'm just finally breaking into 12s myself, working on Setsugekka currently.

I guess my point is different people will find that different things work for them.

concertino in blue is a crazy easy 12. You just need to make sure you have enough time to build your gauge back up when everything slows down.

if you have gold try playing HONEY PUNCH [a] with random on. Since you mentioned double thrash i'm assuming you have happy sky so try the strongest jaeger (ryu remix)[a] with random as well, or love is eternity[a]

Nevermind, I've been playing for like 5-6 years and i'm just able to beat some (not all) 10s now. Haven't cleared any 11s yet.

Switched up my playstyle to double thumbs halfway as well.

Just over two years, can clear most 11* and some 12*.

I WAS able to clear most 11's and Setsugekka for the only 12. I have been playing for a bit over two years, but now I can barely pass 10's because I just started using my left thumb. I hate learning this, but it has to be done.

I'm having problems with some lv. 8s [Daisuke (h), Gigadelic (n), Ageha (h), Second Heaven (h), etc]. Can anyone share tips about those songs?

Only achievement so far that i have done is FC AA Tashikanamono (h).

From what I can remember, those songs have really tricky endings. The only advice I can give is to play them over and over until it feels natural.
Just keep practicing and don't give up.

Although I'm wandering why i can clear under the sky (h), Power of love (h), nageki no ki (n), vanessa (n) and gold rush (n) plus some few level 7's and 8's but i can't clear Be Rock U (h), VJ Army (h) and some others.

I had such a hard time clearing Be Rock U as well. Don't let that discourage you, just come back to them when you feel you're ready. EDIT: Random also helps.
