Default Just purchased a lagless HDTV just wanted to share with anyone

Its a Panasonic model number TC-37LZ85 37 " 1080p LCD. The TV has 3 HDMI inputs, 2 component inputs, 2 standard inputs, digital audio out, and 1 s-video input. My current setup is: ps2 with component cables= 0 lag ( iidx, ddr, street fighter etc.), 360 with component cables= 0 lag, wii with standard cables = 0 lag (looks kinda icky though sometimes). The picture is great on this tv, and iidx doubles looks amazing. Also psone games have no lag. I took my ps2 and iidx to Sears where i bought the tv and i actually got some new high scores ! If anyone is looking for the perfect gaming hdtv , this is it ! $ 1300.
m335h73r Edit: This is apparently untrue.

Sticking this because we need a lagless HDTV thread that's not gonna die.

Got excited, dragged all my IIDX stuff to the store and plugged it in.

Had to go -2 before it was "on time".

Sorry, no dice. Spent a good hour playing around with the modes and everything, but can't play IIDX without changing the timing window.

edit: Not to mention 37" is tiny.

edit2: And it's only $950.00 on Amazon.

You sure you were using 0 timing adjustment on the IIDX mix when you were playing? Besides, the only one that I know of that is ideal for that game is the Sharp Aquos LC-42D64U, and that one was verified working w/o timing adjustment by the poster who reviewed the TV on youtube, since he not only tested IIDX on it, but other timing sensitive games like 3rd Strike and Smash Bros. Melee.

He also got an F on IIDX before a AA. Not the most convincing demonstration I've seen. Not sure I buy this is a 100% lagless TV.

Same model, using a slim ps2 + component cables. No better than any other HDTV i've tried to play on.

Parry window in 3s is freaking huge. Not really a good indicator to see if there's lag or not.

The only true way to ensure that there's no lag at all for a monitor would to do a timecode check, and I didn't have my laptop with me so it was useless to try. This website explains it though: HDTV Lag - Testing

Someone needs to edit every post that claims they have lagless and put green for good and red for bad or edit the first post with TVs that DO have lagless play because honestly if I was new to this thread and it went already 10+ pages I surely wouldn't want to read it all because i'm lazy

All I hear are experiments for LCD TVs

What about Plasma TVs?

Of course, I'm talking about Pioneer Kuros and Panasonic Viera Plasma TVs (10th Generation and above)..........since these are quality plasmas (unlike those China-branded crapheap like Changhong or Skyworth)

I'm asking this cause if it is at least as good as Rear Projection HDTVs, then it shows that plasma TVs can make the cut.

Two cents

Lag isn't induced due to the type of display, but by the fact that almost all televisions lack internal scalars that are processing the input and outputting it another way.

HDTVs have what's called a "native resolution" and "accepted resolutions." The TV will do everything in its power to display whatever is on screen at its native resolution, so when you give it a resolution that isn't its native resolution, it has to redraw the frame to match.

Let's say you have a nice and shiny 1080p native HDTV. Any input from a Playstation 2 will be 480i (and in some very rare cases, 480p). The TV gets this signal and then has to process the image into a 1080p image, then displays it on your screen. Since -good- scalars are expensive to install, all companies cut this corner by putting in a scalar that "just works". Most instances you won't notice it, but once you put any timing based game on the spotlight, you'll see the lag.
