This question may have been already asked, but does playing on a LCD prevent from having good scores? I doubt I would have better grades on a CRT, but I really don't know how it happens. I know people who play on the arcade machine and they can get just greats a lot more constantly.
So if playing on LCD is more than a lag and you can't get AAA on 12* as "easily" as on CRT, I'd like to know it . |
When I play on the LCD with widescreen, I get used to its timing but when I switch over to CRT with original screen my score is lower sometimes. Original screen on the 4:3 CRT is pretty weird for me. I guess because I'm used to the notes on the widescreen than the ones on the original screen.

Either way then I guess your HDTV performs comparatively well for BM IIDX unlike majority of the HDTV sets out there (including my Samsung unit which is just only a year old )

Everything is set at 0 except for Happy Sky which is +/- 1 (i forgot) because of its lateness.

I know when I did the switch from a 27" Panasonic CRT to my 42" Sharp Aquos, it was a little disorientating because the screen is so huge, it's easier to see everything. People who are used to playing on the larger arcade screens shouldn't have that big of a difference in their scores since they're used to that size.

I don't really understand any of this HDTV stuff to be honest, nor do I want to. Is it possible to buy an HDTV(32" - 36"), plug my ps2 in and play absolutely lag less? I want a new TV to play pop n'/IIDX/possibly DDR in the near future on a chipped PS2.
thanks appreciate it a lot.

thanks appreciate it a lot. | The Panasonic Viera Plasma HDTVs also are completely lagless visually. But with either TV you'll need external speakers in order to eliminate audio delay.
So if you have some speakers, then yes, you can just plug in your PS2 to a Panasonic Viera or Sharp Aquos and play lag-free. You'll want PS2 component cables, though, since composite input looks absolutely awful on an HDTV, especially flat-panels.

Component video is the one with the red/blue/green cable set. This is the one you want to use with an HDTV.

All you need are external speakers in order to eliminate audio lag. There is no visual lag on the TV.

Composite cables will appear shitty on your HDTV because the limited detail expressed on-screen is already hampered when content designed for SD (such as BM IIDX) is stretched. Hence the phrase: Garbage in, garbage out. Indeed, you'd want to make your source look as clean and clear as it possibly can. Hence, composite cables just do not work here for an HDTV (unless you aren't bothered by such if ever).
Two cents
