Nah I doubt it (that some that big earthquake could *completely* bring a city down).
The last major Californian earthquake (1991 I think) was indeed massive and disastrous..........but that didn't stop the city and its people from rising back up from the catastrophe.
Anyways, we shouldn't be talking about this stuff here (though I understand the humor and sarcasm of your post).

Anyways, there are only a few LCDs atm that are "acceptable" for playing these games (without any adjustments).
I'm still looking at something other than Sharp Aquos gaming LCD.
Atm, the best candidates that I can find so far are the ones with LED backlights.
I say that because the LED backlights have faster switch rates than those with CCFL backlights. Aside from higher contrast, better black levels (because the pixels can fully switch on and off) and better luminosity per watt, this may have a chance.
Unfortunately, due to it being a newer technology, it is still relatively expensive........and is thus ONLY available in high-end TVs atm.
Still you might wanna check it out by bringing ur PS2 and BM IIDX games with a variety of cables and connections.
The LCD TV sets with LED backlights that you'd wanna check are:
-Samsung Series 9 (A950)
-Sony BRAVIA XBR8 (will arrive in December)
-Sharp XS1 (due Q4 2008)
-Philips Aurea LCD TV
Go to your nearest appliance/electronics store to test it for yourself
